Yes, and it can be concluded, since a number of those claims are part of the public record, and Sernberg's account disputes the public record, is that he lied.

Thanks for sharing your view on the issue Bust Nak, my response to the claims you made is the same as my response to Goat. We have conflicting sources, two completely different accounts of what happened.

Not really, Sternberg doesn't dispute that he reviewed the paper himself, he doesn't dispute that he had not consultation with an associate editor, which was the norm, he doesn't dispute that the other reviewer were unidentified, which isn't the norm. What he does dispute is whether he was, and the people he choose were the best qualified people to review it, and whether it was proper conduct for an editor or not.

He doesn't dispute that he wasn't sacked from the Editor job, he doesn't dispute that he continued working at the museum after this incident hit the internet, he doesn't dispute he was offered a continuation of his position. Yet it was protraited that he losted his job over this episode.

He doesn't dispute the House of Representatives Committee on Government Reform isn't official.

You can claim your sources are verified, but if so, it can only be by sources that agree with your position. Because my sources, not least the film itself, claim they have verified their information, and again they disagree with your sources. So once again we arrive at faith. What do we believe in? I believe the people from the Intelligent Design community and the sources they provide.

Well the stuff he is not disputing, but he neglected to mention in his account, doesn't paint a very good picture now does it?

Yes I think Intelligent Design and young earth Biblical creation should be taught as science in schools.

Why? Neither of them are science. Neither make any falsifiable predictions, and neither are supported by any form of physical evidence. They are fit to be taught in Philosophy or Mythology classes, but Science class should be reserved for actual science.

If I remember correctly, the impetus for this documentary came from Kitzmiller vs. Dover, the lawsuit that resulted in Intelligent Design being barred from Illinois classrooms. I urge you to read the decision. It is quite instructive and goes a long way toward explaining why Intelligent Design is not science.

Except, we can verify that some of the claims and innuendos made about Dr. Sternberg made in the film are not true.

In fact, although congressman Souder is no longer a congressman and his investigation is no longer on his website, one can still find it online. It includes e-mail documentation from the Smithsonian. These show that Dr. Sternberg was not expelled from the Smithsonian, that he did not lose access to office space, and in fact, was reappointed to a research position at the Smithsonian after he supposedly was expelled.


He is certainly free to speak for himself. But many of the claims about his case made in the film are contrary to the actual facts, facts which you or anyone can verify for themselves, if they wish. It seems even Dr. Sternberg himself admits this.

So if I was a naturalistic evolutionist I would be outraged by this flic? Good thing I'm a realist and I just find it to be quaintly amusing.
