Yes it is! I am an atheist who gets hammered by the Christians on a routine basis. That is OK because I hammer them back even harder (in debate logic). Don't give up just because a few people piss you off! You need to be represented and we need to hear your viewpoint. Instead of quiting, create a thread about why you want to leave and see what happens.please delete my account

I would ask for you to reconsider. If everyone on the forum upsets you, then going elsewhere would be wise. But if only one or two does, then it is not reflective of the entire forum. Additionally, the moderating team has taken steps to curtail attacks and will continue to do so. But, if you still want me to delete your account, please send me a PM.

Post #6Indeed, after some thought (and some concerned PMs), I have concluded that you are right.
While I am still reluctant to participate in this forum for the reasons stated above, upon reflection I decided it was even more unwise to allow some the more vicious antisemitic canards that have been presented here as fact to go unanswered.
I am preparing a post intended to be an answer to some of those distortions and lies. It will appear later today.
My heartfelt thanks for your support.

Post #9This is the first thread I've read, having just joined this forum. Having a Jewish wife who's also an atheist and the most generous soul I know, and having graduated from an ecumenical seminary and been an active Presbyterian minister, I have long since concluded that Jesus was correct in telling us not to judge that we be not judged and that being able to obey this represents a hallmark of a huge personal freedom. Actually grace. I have known it off and on and wish I had it more. Cheers, S

Glad to see you are hanging around. While we certainly disagree on numerous points, I for one say that Christians owe our spiritual heritage to Judaism, and not only that, but that when we understand Judaism better, and Hebrew customs, it gives us a fresh, deeper perspective into the Gospel, and the whole Bible that we would otherwise miss.
Sorry for any and all those who are, have been anti-semitic, or are bigots.
Christ was Jewish, and most all of the New Testament writers, and true Christians are the Jews best friends. True followers of Christ cannot hate any group, whether race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation, economic class or whatever.
I deeply believe there needs to be more mutual respect.
For what it's worth, you may know this, but i think it's worth mentioning two points.
1) There are plenty of Cultural Jews-- who may be circumcized and have the last name Rosenberg, or Weiss, or whatever, but do not keep the Torah, or even practice the holidays, and diminish the significance of Jewish History and Culture. Seinfeld comes to mind.
2). I am Scots Irish American Protestant Republican living in 99% Culturally Catholic Poland. My point here, my friend, is that sometimes people may not like me, or disagree with me strongly, but it often has little or nothing to do with my being 14% Scots, or 22% Irish, or Protestant, or Calendar Day Creation, for that matter.
Don't take it as personal rejection. Sometimes, it may just be my views or your views on a subject, and that combined with the way you express it, and the weather that day. I have had some responsed that seemed very hostile, and then had great PMs later with those same atheists.
