Many people have debated about this, but I have not found any conclusive
answer yet. Is masturbation sinful?

But thats different from person to person...... so i guess I got nothing to argue about
I'm still having trouble understanding where or why one feels bad for masturbating

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I always thought that a married couple was one person in the eyes of god, at least thats what the priests always say at weddings I've been to. Wouldn't that mean that sex with your husband/wife was masturbation in gods eyes?

My two cents.
The Bible covers almost every imaginable sexual sin there is including sex with animals, orgies, etc., yet it does not say anything about masturbation. I believe that there is a reason for that.
We are sexual creatures. It is good that we are attracted to the opposite sex. It has been explained to me that the word lust is translated from if translated literally means "to breath hard after". I believe there is a big difference between a healthy sexual imagination and lusting after someone.
And lastly I do believe that the spirit deals with each of us individually. We are convicted at different levels on this subject. It is not spelled out at all in scripture, so....

Better masturbation than have sex each day with a different person, don't you think?
Yes....
What is the difference?I believe there is a big difference between a healthy sexual imagination and lusting after someone.
But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. (Matthew 5:28)
If you imagine you are with this woman while masturbating, are you committing adultery in your heart as well?
I don't see that their is much of a difference...

Well the way I see it is why would masturbating be sinful? When you think about it what have you actually done wrong? Who have you hurt? Some people will say something about having lustful thoughts about someone etc, but so what? Does the person you had those thoughts for know about it? No, so s/he doesn't care and suffers neither physical nor mental/emotional harm from it. The only harm that comes from such thoughts is if you act them out without the other person's consent, but I hardly think anyone could claim masturbation leads to rape otherwise almost everyone alive ever must be/have been a rapist lol.

Well NOT masturbating won't stop you from feeling bad that you don't have the real thing. It that situation it can actually be a good thing, a release. A temporary substitute. Some experts even consider masturbation an important way of improving your performance in the bedroom; if you can't even satisfy yourself how will you satisfy another?

That's actually a rather itneresting point. To me it brings to light yet another possible contradiction in Christianity.
In my humble opinion something is only really wrong if it in some way results in negative consequences and/or harm to another person. Most things we consider to be wrong do result in such harm, such as stealing, rape, drug dealing etc. But masturbation causes harm to no one. People argue religion brings comfort; as far as I can see it brings a lot more unnecessary guilt and fear.
