For the wages of sin is death; . . . (Romans 6:23)

The punishment for sinning is death, and that punishment lasts forever. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. (Matthew 25:46)

WRONG... Your looking at a bad translation..
Ray Prinzing wrote: The fourth horse, the Pale Horse. "And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, come and see. And I looked, and lo a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with the sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth" (Rev. 6:7-8).
There is a special significance to be attached to the description of the fourth horseman -- he whose name is Death -- and Hell followed with him. Death and Hell are specially linked in the Revelation. And since Christ came and abolished death (II Tim. 1:10) and destroyed him that had the power of death, that is, the devil (Heb. 2:14), He now boldly proclaims: "I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the KEYS OF HELL AND OF DEATH" (Rev. 1:18). And since the Christ now possesses both hell and death neither of them ride anywhere except by His authority!
Now let us UNDERSTAND! This horse is given power over the fourth part of the earth-realm, to kill with the sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
This "fourth part of the earth" is clearly that portion of earthiness not already dealt with by the three preceding horses. It bespeaks of the conclusion, consummation and termination of the process. It means the final subjugation and destruction of everything within us that is contrary to HIS life and kingdom. And all the instruments necessary to accomplish this are in His hands and at His command.
To kill with DEATH
There is an amazing and significant statement in the passage that we do not want to miss. "And power was given unto Him to kill...with death."! How does one kill with death?
What can this cryptic statement mean?
To kill with death means a death by death. Later on in the book of Revelation the same truth is presented thus: "Death and hell were cast into the lake of Fire. This is the second death" (Rev. 20:14). Now let us turn this around for clarity. "The second death IS death and hell cast into the lake of fire." Therefore we have exactly the same meaning either way it is stated. What is the second death? It is the first death and hell cast into the lake of fire!
"Our God is a consuming fire.
" This fact is extremely IMPORTANT. The second death is not merely the lake of fire. Nor is the second death men being tortured forever in the lake of fire.
The Holy Spirit has made it very simple and plain. The second death is the first death and hell CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE.
That is the Holy Spirit's definition, not mine.
Can we now open the eyes of our understanding to see that everything cast into the lake of fire pertains to DEATH? Death itself is cast into the lake of fire. Hell, the realm of the dead, is cast into the lake of fire. And those whose names are not written in the Book of Life, i.e. those who are dead, in trespasses and in sins, who inhabit hell, are cast into the lake of fire.
That is the end of death and hell and sin and sinners, for God shall destroy the whole realm of death in the lake of fire.
He shall burn up hell in the lake of fire, He shall destroy death in the lake of fire, and He shall consume sin in the lake of fire.
How I long to see the end of sin and death and hell! The time is coming, praise His name! God's Kingdom shall rule over all and God Himself shall be All-in-all. There shall be neither sin, nor sinners, nor death, nor hell
. It is clear that God does not destroy men in the lake of fire, nowhere does it say that, for that would be a contradiction of terms. How can you destroy death by creating death?
How can you abolish death by bringing men under the power of eternal death from which there is no escape?
Oh, no, it is not men who are destroyed in the lake of fire -- it is sin and death and hell that are destroyed. "And the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death" (I Cor. 15:26). "And there shall be no more death: for the former things are passed away" (Rev. 21:4). Thus, the lake of fire is nothing more nor less than THE DEATH OF DEATH! "And power was given unto them to kill...with death. " 0, the wonder of it!

There is no such scriptural term as "eternal death". The Book of Revelation is where only place where the second death is ever mentioned and that makes the second death spiritual in nature. The Book of Revelation is the most spiritual book ever written; I love how religious men try so hard to carnalize it. You see John was in spirit o the Lords day; no where does it say John was being literal in any since of the word.
myth-one.com"]This is true there is the spiritual man and there is the natural man; but God never said in His Word He is calling all men NOW. On the contrary; God is not calling all men NOW; he is only calling His firstfruits to which he will use for the remainder of all men God has never called.Benoni wrote:\How can you abolish death by bringing men under the power of eternal death from which there is no escape?
"For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and TO ALL THAT ARE AFAR OFF, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." (Acts 2:39).
1 Corinthians 15:22-24
22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
(order) Gk Strongs NT:5001 tagma (tag'-mah); from NT:5021; something orderly in arrangement (a troop), i.e. (figuratively) a series or succession:
If God does not call you, you cannot come.
How else can you destroy death; by killing it.

This is soooo true. But your natural body will die, so will mine so will all flesh; we will all ultimately see a new glorious body; but as I pointed out above God is not calling the whole world NOW.How else can you destroy death?
There are two type of beings defined in the scriptures, natural and spiritual:
When a man dies His spirit (not his soul or flesh)shall be returned to God who made it. The soul needs to be changed that is what the lake of fire is for.
Ecclesiastes 12: 7Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. (I Corinthians 15:44)
Natural bodies die while spiritual bodies live eternally.
If all natural bodies are removed from the mix:Freedom of choice? Where did you dig this up? Natural man/spiritual man do not choose God; he chooses them.[strike]There is a natural body, and [/strike] there is a spiritual body. (I Corinthians 15:44)
No where is there any mention of man choosing God when it comes to spiritual things; on the contrary God draws men which also means drag/force.
God draws us or drags us; or in my word FORCES us to come to Him; do I need to show you the verses again.
Romans 3:11
There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
John 6:44
"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws (drag Greek) him, and I will raise him up at the last day
1670 helkuo (hel-koo'-o); drag
Jeremiah 18:2
Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. 3 Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. 4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
Romans 9:12 It was said to her that the elder [son] should serve the younger [son]) 13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated (held in [1] relative disregard in comparison with My feeling for Jacob).) 14 What shall we conclude then? Is there injustice upon God's part? Certainly not! 15 For He says to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy and I will have compassion (pity) on whom I will have compassion.) 16 So then [God's gift] is not a question of human will and human effort, but of God's mercy. [It depends not on one's own willingness nor on his strenuous exertion as in running a race, but on God's having mercy on him.] 17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, I have raised you up for this very purpose of displaying My power in [dealing with] you, so that My name may be proclaimed the whole world over. 18 So then He has mercy on whomever He wills (chooses) and He hardens (makes stubborn and unyielding the heart of) whomever He wills. 19 You will say to me, Why then does He still find fault and blame us [for sinning]? For who can resist and withstand His will? 20 But who are you, a mere man, to criticize and contradict and Why have you made me thus? 21 Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same mass (lump) one vessel for beauty and distinction and honorable use, and another for menial or ignoble and dishonorable use?
The possibility of sin still exists because spiritual bodies have freedom of choice.

That's because there is no such thing as "temporary death." Death according to the scripture is the second death of Revelation. Any other "death" is generally referred to as sleep or slumber.Benoni wrote:There is no such scriptural term as "eternal death".
For the wages of sin is death; . . . (Romans 6:23)
The soul that sinneth, it shall die. (Ezekiel 18:4)
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. (Matthew 25:46)
The punishment for sinning is death, and that death is everlasting!
Historically, fire has been known to kill men. Men cast into the lake of fire quickly perish!Benoni wrote:Oh, no, it is not men who are destroyed in the lake of fire -- it is sin and death and hell that are destroyed.
The lake of fire and brimstone will be the eternal prison of the devil. If hell is the lake of fire, then hell will last forever:
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (Revelation 20:7-10)
Not all! Only believers will receive a new glorious spiritual body -- and believers are the "few."Benoni wrote:But your natural body will die, so will mine so will all flesh; we will all ultimately see a new glorious body; but as I pointed out above God is not calling the whole world NOW.
Benoni wrote:Freedom of choice? Where did you dig this up? Natural man/spiritual man do not choose God; he chooses them.
No where is there any mention of man choosing God when it comes to spiritual things; on the contrary God draws men which also means drag/force.
Where is it stated that God forces all of us to believe? For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
Death and the grave are defeated with the ending of the age of man. Since there are no more living men, no man will ever die again, nor will a grave ever be required again. But the possibility of sin will always exist because these newly born spiritual beings have freedom of choice.

For: Ecclesiastes 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
Ecclesiastes 7: 1A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth. You want to understand death do not look at religion look at God's Word. The new wine does not fit in old bottles.
It is so called life we live now that is death. I like the using word Zombie humans who are without Gods quickening are dead spiritual.
There are two deaths in relations ship to the spiritual realm in the Bible the first death and the second death there is also physical death which is but physical death is NOTHING BUT an example for a spiritual man to understand the two other deaths which are spiritual in nature.
The first death: When Adam died we all died; not physically but spiritually from the realm of God. Adam when he sinned caused all born of him to be dead at the moment of his sin. But he did not die physically until he was 930 years old showing us the real death is spiritual death. How are we as physical being suppose to understand spiritual things but by physical examples so that our spirit can comprehend the things of God.
Death is death when it comes to the natural man but there is nothing natural about the spiritual man, death is glorious in the hands of a God who know and uses all things. Notice God must quicken us who are dead in trespasses and sin, this is not natural physical death, it is spiritual death, this is talking about people God is calling out of the death realm and quickening them in the realm. God uses natural things as examples of what the higher realm is all about, how can we understand the spiritual death but by the example of physical death.
Eph, 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Ecclesiastes 7: 1A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.
"QUICK ."Quick means living and active " LIFE-GIVING! making it active, operative, energizing and effective, notice the context of Ephesians which shows us step by step how the salvation process works.
What is death? Physical death, we are all going to die. Spiritual death; we have already died in Adam. Second death; which is death to death; what death are you talking about. I will die physically, be it for Christ or my time has come; it will happen. Spiritually dead, men are dead in trespasses and sin; have you ever seen a dead man see, hear, touch anything. That is even more true with spiritually dead men. Praise God I want to go thought the second death.
Adam died when he partook of the fruit in the garden; he did not die physically until he was 930 years old. (Gen. 5.5) He died spiritually. A dead man cannot hear, see, touch, feel, etc. That is especially true of a spiritual dead man.
1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
Romans 5:21
That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 7: 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
Romans 8:6
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
The second death is death killed by death.
Your view of death is not as a spiritual man but a natural man with a religious view; that is why we need Gods spirit to lead and guide us into all truth. That's because there is no such thing as "temporary death." Death according to the scripture is the second death of Revelation. Any other "death" is generally referred to as sleep or slumber.

In regards to mankind's understanding of physical death:Benoni wrote:What is death?

Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. (I Corinthians 15:51)
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (I Thessalonians 4:17)
Christians (We) shall not all die (sleep), but all will be born again as spirits (changed). When they receive their spiritual bodies their physical bodies are no longer required and will be discarded. These Christians will not experience death in the usual sense. However, as their physical bodies will rot and decay, they could be said to die in that they no longer support a life.
Those humans who died as Christians will be born again as spiritual bodies upon Jesus' return. This is the first resurrection. This much larger group will die once.
Those who died as nonbelievers and are resurrected again as physical bodies in the second resurrection following the millennium, and still refuse to accept Jesus as their Savior, will be cast into the lake of fire and suffer their second death. These individuals will die twice as humans. There is no recovery from the second death. It is eternal! They do not suffer in hell for eternity. Their death is eternal, not their act of dying! They are gone, dust, erased, nada, gone bye-bye, etc. So these will die twice.
After this, death and the grave are finished. Any remaining life is spiritual. The end of time and the age of man are now completed. Man, as a physical being, no longer exists!
Spirits are stuck with immortality and cannot die.Benoni wrote:Spiritual death;

Great opinion base don what?In regards to mankind's understanding of physical death:
1. A few people will never die
2. Some will die once, and
3. Some will die twice
The few who will never die are those Christians who are alive at the Second Coming of Christ. They will be born again as spirits and meet Jesus in the air upon his return:
The word second coming is not in the Bible and just like the false belief man will be raptured both are religious term and not found in the Bible; there are many returns of the Lord not just two.
Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. (I Corinthians 15:51)

If you want to get in a debate over the rapture I would love too.
Where did you dig this up?Spirits are stuck with immortality and cannot die.
