When I learned that the Bible speaks of a restored Garden of Eden and the restoration of mankind to the perfection and endless life that Adam forfeited, I was thrilled. Who doesn't want to keep living on this beautiful earth, with our loved ones, and being able to do all the things we love to do---endlessly?
If God said to you today, "When do you want to die?" would you say "now!!"? I don't think very many people would say that.
We CAN live forever here on Earth. The Bible tells us that we can.

The difference between knowing and believing
Part One
I'm not sure what you are saying that Jesus "Restored", actually. Jesus is the focus of a huge religious movement... so, if Jesus restored anything, it's the capacity for humans to create offshoot religions. Everything else supernatural can't be proved at all.
I wonder why God allows his plans to get fouled up that way? Perfect God, imperfect plan.. a bit "weird" to me.
Sounds like a "planned obsolescence".
As to any religious person KNOWING about gods and demons and so on?... Of course, they don't KNOW anything, they just believe.
But, as we just noticed, they use the word "KNOW" a lot.

I suppose you are talking about Adam and Eve?... they disobeyed a rule, were punished, and then, a long time after, God sends his "son" to somehow... "restore" the Garden of Eden, and STOP that punishment?

It's always a wonder to me how religious people will use the word "know" instead of "believe" like that. Religious language is very different than secular language. In secular language, the verb "to know" isn't the same as the verb "to believe".
Now, you use the word "believe"... and that's more appropriate. You might believe something religious that others might not.dio9 wrote:

But... do you believe that God created ( gets the credit for or blame for ) the world the way that it is, with volcanoes and polar bears butterflies flowers and us? You didn't say.

And lo, God made the volcano and the polar bear and he saw that they were good. Or words to that effect!dio9 wrote:
Volcanoes are going to act like volcanoes , really you can't blame God for volcanoes and polar bears .
I think if I set a trap I am responsible for the injuries it causes. No?

again would you rather be living on Mars? This is it. There is no one to blame.

I agree; there is no one to blame.
But if I also agree to the proposition that God assembled volcanoes, then I have to ask why, since it seems to me an obvious hazard. Living on Mars, were it possible, would simply introduce new questions, which needn't detain us.

Could you clarify?
Are you saying, for example, that Jesus came back because we are fouling something up today?

But... do you believe that God created ( gets the credit for or blame for ) the world the way that it is, with volcanoes, polar bears, butterflies, flowers and us? You STILL didn't say.
