Paradise on Earth

Post by onewithhim »

When I learned that the Bible speaks of a restored Garden of Eden and the restoration of mankind to the perfection and endless life that Adam forfeited, I was thrilled. Who doesn't want to keep living on this beautiful earth, with our loved ones, and being able to do all the things we love to do---endlessly?

If God said to you today, "When do you want to die?" would you say "now!!"? I don't think very many people would say that.

We CAN live forever here on Earth. The Bible tells us that we can.

Matthew 5:5
Psalm 37:9-11,29

I told you in great detail why it could not be the physical earth but rather the people and cultures of what the author believed to be the works of the devil.
2 Corinthians 4:4
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
On a side note to worship an image of God is technically idolatry.

Yes, and I was glad to get your view on it. I said you are correct. The people that say that God chose individuals to live or die before the planet was created are teaching poppycock.

[Replying to post 242 by onewithhim]You are in error. It doesn't matter if one interprets the text to mean the earth or world in the sense of Satans power. The individuals were chosen before they were born or had done anything good or bad.

No they were not, and I showed you why. If you can't even give me the courtesy of actually discussing something without insulting me, I won't bother to try and have a conversation with you.

Have a nice evening.

These texts show why you are wrong. The meaning is self evident. Before they were born their names were already written in the book of life.
Ephesians 1:4
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love. John 17:24
Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. 1 Peter 1:20
He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.
Revelation 13:8
All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast"all whose names have not been written in the Lambs book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.
Do you notice that God had always intended for his Son to be slain? Also that for their names to have always been written in the book of life God must be directing creation down to the sub atomic level in order for them to come into being.

Yes this seems an easy enough thing to comprehend. It is all about perspective and understanding.

The god creates a story in his mind in which he also enacts the characters within the story and from that determines ahead of time how the story will pan out.

The writer, the director and the actor(s).

"Aaaaannd ACTION!"

He can even punish those he himself has led into sin.

Romans 9:16-24New International Version (NIV)

16 It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on Gods mercy. 17 For Scripture says to Pharaoh: I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.[a] 18 Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.

19 One of you will say to me: Then why does God still blame us? For who is able to resist his will? 20 But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, Why did you make me like this? 21 Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?

22 What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath"prepared for destruction? 23 What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory" 24 even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles.

I explained to you what "the founding of the world" means. You blatantly ignore my posts and apparently don't even try to understand what I'm saying. It is DESPICABLE to accuse God of planning to have His Son sacrificed from the beginning of creation! The scriptures you quote do not mean that people were chosen to live or die before the creation of the PLANET. "The world" is the society of mankind alienated from God, which started AFTER ADAM & EVE SINNED.

[Replying to post 248 by onewithhim]The texts indicate that God planned these things before the creation of the world. Before not after. So the meaning remains the same if world means earth or the fall of man. They were determined by God before. Would you have a problem with a God who would do this?

It is VITALLY important to differentiate between God planning the death of His Son before the planet was created, and planning the death of His Son before the world of mankind (that was alienated from Him because of the Fall) was created. Big difference, what you have determined notwithstanding.

I would have a problem with a God who would plan the demise of anyone before they were even born. I do not believe that He did this, and I have explained why He did not.
