Two witnesses

Daniel 9:27, "And he (Jesus) shall confirm the covenant with many of one week (7 years); and in the midst of the week (3 1/2 years) he shall cause the (Temple) sacrifices and oblations (offerings) to cease."

The new covenant Jesus brought with him was to be confirmed for seven years, but he was cut off after 3 1/2 years from the land of the living. What remains is 3 1/2 years, or 1260 days.

Jeremiah 31:31, "Behold, the days come, said the LORD, that I willake a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah (the 12 tribes)."

Were both Enoch and Elijah witnesses to the LORD during their lives? Genesis 5:24, “And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.” Enoch was a pre-Flood prophet, warning of judgment and walking in intimacy with God

Elijah confronted Ahab and Jezebel, called down fire on Mount Carmel. 1 Kings 17:1, “As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand…” He was taken up in a whirlwind, 2 Kings 2:11, and never saw death.

Revelation 11:3, “And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days…”
These two, Enoch and Elijah, are the only two in Scripture who never died. Will they return to finish confirming Jesus' New Covenant?

Hebrews 9:27: “It is appointed unto men once to die.” They return to fulfill that appointment.
Malachi 4:5: “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.”
So, will it be Enoch and Elijah who are sent to complete the confirmation to the Jewish remnant; their ministry ends with death and resurrection, echoing Jesus’ own witness.
