I am disgusted by the rejoicing of one slain last night
Post #1I woke this morning to find the headline on the paper "Osama Bin Laden is Dead" in huge letters... like it is some sort of accomplishment to kill someone. Everyone seems to be taking pride in this on the news as well. I am disappointed at anyone being happy about the death of another. I feel like apologizing on behalf of all people who are celebrating this in the name of our country. May God have mercy on those who live in the US who are not rejoicing at this.
Let those who have ears hear, those discerning ones will see the truth, not what the world wants them to see as "truth." Let your biases go so you can truly hear the word of God...

I'm not jumping up and down, or giddy over his death.
But I'd be lying if I wasn't pleasantly surprised and relieved to hear that he was killed and quickly disposed of in a non-inflaming manner.
This is a man who orchestrated the deaths of thousands of Americans, Christians, Muslims, etc. This is a man who has hurt U.S. Islamic relations and created gross perceptions which will last a very, very long time.
This should have been done a long time ago. I'm not sad in the least by the fact that he is gone. Good riddance to a horrible human being. He deserved this.

Ok i am a Christian. I have not and do not take part in any rejoicing that has taken place upon the news of the death of osama bin laden. I would have rejoiced if osama had renouced his former actions and declared He believed in the atonement of the Messiah Jesus. I would have rejoiced osama being eternaly saved.AkiThePirate wrote:I've not seen any celebration of his death with those celebrating actively making a point that they're Christian, and nor did I claim to. However, taking into account that over 75% of the population identifies themselves as Christian, it's pretty hard to fathom that those rejoicing in his death are not predominantly Christians.
I'm not saying this reflects on Christianity, but it sure reflects on those 'Christians' taking part in the celebration.

Seemed like a lot of people rejoiced when Saddam was hung... a mass murder I don't see any difference or why this is even an issue... I am glad he died... If he did die. I mean this whole thing smells a lot...

let's put it in context..The United States is not a Christian nation,...it is secular and actually has more false Christs than atheists... :2gun:AkiThePirate wrote:Indeed, I find such a reaction from a 'Christian' nation to be somewhat amusing to my strange sense of humour.

well the bible says there would be many false ChristsAkiThePirate wrote:Wow, a No True Scotsman! I'd never have expected that.
Jesus said that narrow is the path to life and few there be that find it..
you cannot find in the character of a single one of the new Testament writers that would be a participant of the Crusades..Christianity over came the Roman Empire without a sword.
I am sitting in this country and finding as I have matured even though I should expect it that Christianity as it is known in the world is far from what is established by the
Apostles and their Lord..
