The Gay Denomination.
For those people that desire same gender sexual behavior or thoughts, AND that claim to be a Christian and claim that their beliefs and theology can fit the New Testament witness, instead of waging an endless, fruitless and vicious war on other Christians - that will NEVER accept their gay doctrines and dogmas . . ., - why won't they just declare a new and alternative denomination, just like Watch Tower theological adherants and Mormons?
Why the need to join forces with anti-Christian and secularist movements to attack "Bible believing" Christians?
Afterall, in referencing the New Testament, there is no justifiable comparison of sex acts to being a slave (slavery), or the charge of bigotry and hatefulness in holding that marriage is a man and a woman.
Why not just start an "Out and Proud" Gay Denomination?
The Gay Denomination?

What if it the young gay man had to have adult non-gay men supervising him while he was with the boys?Tex
How can you blame a gay Man for wanting to be a BSL?
Shouldn't those "other people" in this case PARENTS, have a say in who is going to be with their children alone or on overnights, camping trips, extended trips, or other events? They can't have any kids of their own.....So let them watch the kids of other people.
What?Who knows, maybe they well turn straight for a couple of years just to have a child, then become gay again.
It's life (and a natural right) for private organizations to have limts to who is to supervise children. It's the world we live in today....That's life.
Is the following Girl Scouts concern a form of male-a-phobia?
Specifically, men may not participate alone with girls and will not take girls on overnights, camping trips, extended trips, or events without two female adults.

You bring up a good point.....But we all know, if a little GS even mention a man putting her hand on here, the guy is doomed. I would stay away from GS or like the policy suggest....I would need a witness with me at all times. When I was little, I seen little girls in action. They can be cute but when they want to be bad .....watch out.Is the following Girl Scouts concern a form of male-a-phobia?

You know what .....It should be the same for BS also. In today world a child's word has a lot of power. There should be always two adults at all times. IF you go with a child alone somewhere, it's at your own risk.

This may be a first but I agree with you, Tex. I'll even go further. Why any male - gay or straight - would want to be a school teacher or a BS or GS leader in today's world I have no idea. We've taken 'child safety' to a whole new level where even showing genuine affection or comforting a distressed child is a no-no. And, it will get worse possibly to the point where these positions are left unfilled. We can thank the educated but pathetic 'do-gooders' and the media for creating the illusion that there is danger around every corner. Every male is a potential threat. So, let us bind the kids in bubble wrap and wait to see what kind of wimpy, spoiled, unprepared to take risk adults they grow into.Tex wrote:You bring up a good point.....But we all know, if a little GS even mention a man putting her hand on here, the guy is doomed. It IS the same for the boy scouts today. That was because in the 70's and 80's , there were a number of sexual predators and incidences in the boy scouts that they tried to cover up.Tex wrote:You bring up a good point.....But we all know, if a little GS even mention a man putting her hand on here, the guy is doomed. They were forced to publish their personal files http://www.insidebayarea.com/breaking-n ... ted-online
The RCC did the same with their priests. They protected child molesters because they were more worried about their reputation. Things like this are leaking out about denominations too... but the effort is not as centralized, so it is not getting the kind of attention the boy scout and the RCC did.
The Girl Scout policy isn't about being prejudiced against men. It is about protecting the girls. IT seems to me that so many of the perpetrators blame the victim rather than take personal responsibility for their own actions. We can even see this in the bible with Lot and his daughters.. they blamed the daughters , not Lot.
“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

Which, I guess, is exactly what 99% would prefer, the end of Christendom rather than let one gay enjoy the love and acceptance of God's church.
Reminds me of a quote of Coleridge:
'He who begins by loving Christianity better than truth, will proceed by loving his own sect or church better than Christianity, and end in loving himself better than all.'

Why wouldn't they? All sinners are welcome in God's Church.

This is a long thread and some of us have been participating in it for months. Others have come and gone over the months - as happens - and I feel that most have simply 'had enough' and have therefore chosen to drop out. I don't blame them as I've been tempted several times to throw up my hands in frustration while attempting to get into the mind of the OP.
Something that I haven't yet asked 99percentatheism is this: Do you, 99percent, believe homosexuality to be a mental illness that can be healed? I guess you're aware that The American Psychological Association (APA), the world's largest association of psychologists, has stated that: “Homosexuality is not a mental disorder and the APA opposes all portrayals of lesbian, gay and bisexual people as mentally ill and in need of treatment due to their sexual orientation.
I do believe, due to your past remarks, that you don't much approve of the APA's findings. So, 99percent, do YOU believe homosexuality to be a mental illness or not? This is a 'yes' or 'no' answer although I would appreciate further clarification with regard to your answer. If 'yes', then what would you propose can be done to rectify or to alleviate the illness? Bombard their mind with biblical 'clobber' texts and lengthy diatribe telling them that their illness, if not cured, will ultimately lead them to hell?
If 'no', then what DO you believe 'a homosexual' to be exactly? Is he (let's keep it male) simply a 'failed' heterosexual that doesn't 'have the balls' to 'be a man' and therefore avoids intimate relations with the opposite sex? If so, then why would that affect you in the way that you obviously are affected? Should not you, a professed Christian, instead show compassion for those who are not as strong as they might be? Is this not what Jesus would do?
Would you, 99percent, at the earliest opportunity tell me/us exactly what YOU believe a homosexual to be? It's one thing to suggest that a specific group of people start their own denomination but it's another to demean such people without really explaining why. So, again, what do YOU believe a homosexual to be ...mentally ill? a 'failed' heterosexual? a 'devious' heterosexual whose role in life is to p--s off Christians? ...or are they simply who they are through no choice of their own? I await your response and, as I always request ...please keep it simple.

To the chagrin of many an adversary over and over again I'm sure. You bring up a good point.....
And please, the elipsis, is only three dots . . .
This is where the word discrimination has a purely positive connontation. In all reality, the first meaning of discrimination should always be positive. We don't allow a car salesperson to just pick out whatever he/she decides for us to own and drive. Who would let a Real Estate Agent to select our future home for us sight unseen? But we all know, if a little GS even mention a man putting her hand on here, the guy is doomed.
Why is deciding to not allow a homosexual to be in charge of male youth, camping alone with them and out in the wilderness, seen as nothing but a prudent and wise decision? What would Plato or Xenephon say? What does history declare?
Long before the first person was called "Christian" homosexuality was defined with concern in the negative.
Yada, yada, yada. But who cares about history anymore?
We know who and what is doomed by its being ignored.
I would stay away from GS or like the policy suggest....I would need a witness with me at all times. When I was little, I seen little girls in action. They can be cute but when they want to be bad .....watch out.
But why is itm that when a concerned group wants to keep homosexuals away from youth of the same gender, that that is screamed out as bigotry, hatred and phobia and not solidly prudent decision making?
Same gender sex acts are homosexuality. The boys that have been sexually abused by male scout leaders is homosexuality by every form of definition.
I believe that parents have a say so in that. I wouldn't want my male child around someone that is same gender attracted the way Boy Scouts do their campling thing. I wouldn't have a problem with a homosexual teaching him gun safety or topography in a class setting attended by apporved of Scout Leaders. You know what .....It should be the same for BS also. In today world a child's word has a lot of power. There should be always two adults at all times. IF you go with a child alone somewhere, it's at your own risk.
One that is looking more and more like Sodom every day it seems. Especially with mob rule tactics to political power. It's the world we live in today!
Like KCKID and his pro-homosexuality side of the debate always point out, and I think should be supported here on this one point, Sodomites were not just homosexuals.
But remember what the homosexuals said to Lot whehn he tried to implore them to not rape his visitors and I paraphrase:
This guy want's to judge us? We'll treat him worse than them.
Genesis 19:9
How incredible that threat echoes through to this day . . .
