This is an interesting quiz I found through a topic made on another forum. The title of it is a bit provocative, but never mind that! I took the quiz myself which is a simple 32 question quiz about religions and non-religions posted originally on the Christian Science Monitor (although through another source before that).
Atheists and agnostics, Jews and Mormons are among the highest-scoring groups in a 32-question survey of religious knowledge by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life. On average, Americans got 16 of the 32 questions correct. Atheists and agnostics got an average of 20.9 correct answers. Jews (20.5) and Mormons (20.3). Protestants got 16 correct answers on average, while Catholics got 14.7 questions right.
How will you do on the quiz?

I got 30 out of 32. How did you score?
Are you smarter than an Atheist?

I live on the edge of greater London, so it doesn't really effect me I guess.McCulloch wrote:You live in Londonistan and have not noticed Ramadan!
Yeah I don't really mind. I guess I just wish there were a couple of more that focused on English people. Otherwise these quizes don't really mean much (not that they mean much in the first place).Writers of such quizzes are generally American-centered. I live so close to the giant eagle, that the assumption is justified.
I can't believe that can be right (not your idea, but that so many people get below 20). Even a narrow Christian would know at least 15. And then just guessing the others they have a 1/3 chance to be correct.I would assume that it would be someone who is entirely disinterested in other people's religions or living a very insular life.

Well lets look at the officail view:Goat wrote:Not quite.. "Faith without works is dead". .. That is the difference between the teachings of the RCC and of the 'by faith alone' in the Protestants.

Under Part 3: The Common Understanding of Justification
Together we confess: By grace alone, in faith in Christ's saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping and calling us to good works.[11]
That is what both the Roman Catholic Church and the largest group of Lutheran Church's believe. Since then the World Methodist Council have also agreed to it.

I got 32 out of 32 right as well, although I thought the first question was kind of a trick question, even though I got it right. Atheists scored highest, so I am at least as smart as myself. Which I find comforting at my age. Protestants and Catholics scored the lowest. Which is nothing if not evidence that most Christians actually have a very vague notion of what it is that they think they believe in.

32/32. I concur about the fact that Catholics do say thru faith alone, but guessed that the questioner was ignorant
Another one:- Nirvana is central to both Hinduism and Buddhism. Again banked on the ignorance of the questioner to get that one right.

It shows how dumb Christians are that their knowledge is so poor about their own religion.
