It seems to me, that new members rarely post a introduction thread anymore. As such I am making this thread as a way that new members can say hi, and get to know a couple of people on the forums.

So to all the new members:

First of all, hello!

Second, why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself?
“People generally quarrel because they cannot argue.
- G.K. Chesterton

“A detective story generally describes six living men discussing how it is that a man is dead. A modern philosophic story generally describes six dead men discussing how any man can possibly be alive.

Hi everyone,

I've just joined.

I like the sub title of this forum - Civil Christian Debate.

From my screen name some may be able to guess that I'm Catholic and I live in England.

Bede was known as the Venerable Bede for his great learning. I can't claim that but venerable can also be used for being old - which I am.

Married, two children, two grandchildren.

God bless you all.

Hello All!

I joined this site only minutes ago and already have found several topics on which I feel I must comment. I have been actively debating as a Christian apologist for years...from the time I was 16. I have successfully defended the cause in front of no one and in front of 983 (live in a gymnasium). As big as that is, what means the most to me is that I continue to prove the reality of what I so actively speak for each and every day that I live it. I would rather win a soul than a debate!

I am a banker living in the frigid, great white North! I have a young family and strong involvement in my church and community. I love to leverage the beautiful English language in everything I do and have an educational background that allows me to do so.

I look forward to many great debates on this site! :D

Hello, then. Should we become entangled in a violent religious debate, I'll use my fiercest Atheistic science powers to disregard anything you say and come out victorious.

That was, of course, completely humorous in nature.

Hi LH87, Welcome to the Forum. Please be sure to read Forum Rules and Sub-forum Guidelines.

We have a very level "playing field" where no viewpoint is given preferential treatment. The site owner and Administrator is a Christian and very capable debater. The Moderating Team is evenly divided between Theists and Non-Theists.

Here you will encounter very strong debaters representing widely varied points of view -- including former Theists who are quite familiar with a religious life and beliefs.

Enjoy the debates

Non-Theist

ANY of the thousands of "gods" proposed, imagined, worshiped, loved, feared, and/or fought over by humans MAY exist -- awaiting verifiable evidence

Open wide the gates of reason and He shall bring snacks.

It's a pleasure to be here. For the little about myself, I'm studying game design and it's awesome.

Some of my favorite game designers: Reiner Knizia, Tony Boydell, Martin Wallace, Uwe Rosenberg, Stefan Feld, Matthias Cramer, Vlaada Chvatil, Richard Garfield, Alan R. Moon, Rüdiger Dorn and Mac Gerdts.

What kind of games do you design?

Currently I'm interning with Fantasy Flight Games - which I can't talk about - and I'm currently working on a skype-based RPG, a text adventure game and a competitive digital cardgame.
