Well I asked a question.

I did not provide any information whatsoever, nor have I made any claim, nor have I stated my view, opinion or conclusions. I asked a question for clarification. I believe it is relevant to the topic, if however it violates any forum rules I will leave the moderators to sanction me and if the OP wishes to respond to the question I will leave him to do so. If not the question will remain as is.

Is the question presupposing God exists and asking if God exists how do we know that he (he God) is YHWH?

It appears to me that the question is indeed working on the premise that GOD exists, and asking - from that premise - as to what evidence of any sort whatsoever can be presented to demonstrate that the biblical Yahweh is God.

In that, one could argue that 'GOD' in the framework has not been sufficiently defined...which - as a premise - leaves the reader hanging and the question pretty much unanswerable.

I'd take a shot at an answer myself, but I am not aware of any such evidence.

I don't have the reference right here, but there's this from King David from a Psalm, "my help come from YHVH, who made Heaven and earth."

YHVH is identified as the Creator. There are many other verses from the Hebrew Bible that inentify YHVH as the Creator, and some that plainly state that He is God. (the same cannot be said of Jesus, nowhere in the NT do we have a proclamaition "Jesus is God".)

There's this:

I am YHVH, and there is none else, there is no God beside me:...

Isaiah 45.5

And then there's this:

For thus saith YHVH, that created the heavens:God himself that formed the earth and made it: he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am YHVH, there is none else.

Isaiah 45.18
