If you belive God create it, then God at least does nothing to stop it. Is God killing many humans again to be spiteful? To teach us a lesson? Just because he can?
OR
IS God testing us to make sure we still have faith as he kills your parents, spouse or kids?
Why did God create Coronavirus (COVID-19)?

Is that your opinion or fact? How do you know that the best of preparations wouldn't lead to that number of deaths? If you don't know that then your your claim is unsupported.myth-one.com wrote:

So look, look, look again now,
see where we are, and ask How?
For if we continue in our ways,
these could become the “Good Old Days.[/size]
It's pretty tough to talk in rhymes
About these trying, troubled times
But even tougher to believe
That God has made our neighbours grieve.
With threats of virus in the air
It's useless to resort to prayer;
Instead I think researchers will
Rely upon our human skill;
And let us hope their constant labours
Will find a cure to help our neighbours.
But when this problem has been solved
We can be sure God's not involved.
Good job on the poetry -- I can't do much better that "Roses are red, violets are blue."
Anyways, God relinquished the replenishing and caring for the earth to mankind.
So I agree it's our fault.
While we will survive this, it could have been handled much better (or even prevented), but we waste too much time and effort playing the political blame game.
But God does answer the prayers of those who pray believing their prayers will be answered.
Amen to that.Marco wrote:Go well

Sadly, when he answers, he leaves no receipt, no signature. I believe some Imam claimed the devastating tsunami was God's punishment for something or other that somebody somewhere did. Most of us aren't bad souls; we are beautifully human and need no celestial adjudicator. We suffer sufficiently from our own mistakes and rejoice when we get things right, such as finding a cure for the diseases that afflict us.

This is one of the things that baffles me about some believers. No matter how solid the evidence that prayer does not work, does not heal, they still insist it works. There is no way to argue with this claim since facts and studies can't convince.marco wrote:myth-one.com wrote:

Man did not create the virus.Donray wrote: [Replying to post 103 by myth-one.com]
So, could you explin how man created a virus?? I thought god could only created life??? And since evolution is false don't say they evolved.
Man facilitated the virus's spread into the human population -- probably by eating an infected animal or seafood from the Huanan seafood market in Wuhan, China.

The same thing (firing someone for disputing what the president claimed, or stating something contrary to what the president said) has happened multiple times.AgnosticBoy wrote:Is that your opinion or fact? Here's some mathematical measurements of different countries success/failure in their handling of COVID-19:
---- Places ----------------- number of cases
United States --------------- 905,492
Spain ------------------------ 219,764
Italy ------------------------- 192,994
Germany -------------------- 154,159
United Kingdom ------------- 143,464
France ----------------------- 122,577
Turkey ----------------------- 104,912
China Mainland -------------- 88,423
The United States has had more reported cases than Spain, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, and France Combined!
If the degree of preparations can be measured by number of cases, then the USA was ill prepared.
We knew it was coming, and were still apparently unprepared.
================================================
But if your "experts" are correct, our current death count of 51,209 is well under what should be expected.
But why is our count so much higher that other countries, if we took every possible preparation?

Dr. Fauci has went against what the president has said on multiple occasions. Trump claimed that the virus wouldn't come back in a 2nd wave. The same day, during the same press conference, Dr. Fauci went against his statement and said that he is convinced the virus will return. Dr. Fauci also went against Trump when it came to hydroxychloroquine.myth-one.com wrote:

For instance, you brought up captain Brett Crozier earlier. Was he fired for going against Trump or was he fired for not following proper protocol - in other words for something he did wrong?
The most recent case of Dr. Bright being removed from his role is even questionable. He alleges he was removed because he questioned Trump's highly touted medication. But there's also reports that he leaked internal communications and that he often butted heads with other staff. The leaked communication was the final blow. I'm not sure who is right UNTIL there is an investigation.
So far, you have no proof for your claims as it applies to Dr. Fauci being Trump's puppet. Please quit slandering the doc.
There are many factors that take away from the validity of comparing countries.myth-one.com wrote:Here's some mathematical measurements of different countries success/failure in their handling of COVID-19:

First is the number of tests. To date, the US has conducted more testing than any other country. It is reasonable to factor in that the more tests you do, the more cases you will find. This is especially true with the new antibody tests coming out. Many were praising California for keeping their infection numbers down, just to find out that their figures were underestimated. When you tests the number of people who are not only "currently" positive at the time of the test, but also people who were positive at some point (via the presence of antibodies for covid-19) then the number is bound to go up as studies show (Nature). One Californian county reported only 1,000 covid-19 cases, but the study found that the cases at one point could have been as high as 82,000. That's a big difference. If every country did these antibody tests, then their numbers would go up, as well.
So the amount of testing, and the type of testing is a factor and without equal measures, then we can't make real good comparison.
Even in terms of death counts, the point I raised earlier about testing applies here. There are reports that other countries, like Germany and Italy, do little to no post-mortem testing. So if someone dies of covid-19, and you're not testing them as much as say New York, then it won't be counted as a coronavirus death.myth-one.com wrote:But if your "experts" are correct, our current death count of 51,209 is well under what should be expected.

Look, of course the administration made a lot of mistakes. But I'm real skeptical of your view because you started off on this thread with a highly partisan rant. That type of attitude creates a breeding ground for HYPE, and quite frankly, as an INDEPENDENT, I dislike partisan hype that is disguised as reason.

Today, the makers of disinfectants issued warnings to not ingest their products as recommended by the president of the United States as a treatment for COVID-19.
Don't drink Lysol.
It's official, dumb is now fashionable!

Hype that.
