The only way to Salvation

Post by OneJack »

The only way to attain eternal life is by COMING to and FOLLOWING the Lord Jesus Christ until the end,

John 10:27. My sheep HEAR my voice, and I know them, and they FOLLOW me:

28. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Matt. 11:28. COME unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 TAKE my yoke upon you, and LEARN of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Matt 19:21. Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and COME and FOLLOW me.

John 5:39. You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,

40 yet you refuse to COME to me to have life.

Unless Paul and Peter quoted Jesus utterances, what they said and wrote were just their narratives, not the word of God. Not all written words in the bible are Gods utterances in the past.

Anyone who apparently speaks to God can answer that. If you are one of them, you can ask him and then tell us. Exactly how much (leeway/grace) does God allow?
OneJack wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 8:37 am Actually the bible is clear only to those whos now experiencing the shepherding of the Lord Jesus
The Bible claims all scripture is God breathed, which means it would have the exact same answer(s) in which God gives directly to you, or anyone. Unless you are claiming God gives differing answers to differing people, when asked the exact same question(s)?
OneJack wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 8:37 am Jesus will not speak to you if you do not first come to and call on Him with a pure heart. The bible has nothing to do with this encounter with Jesus. You do not need the bible in coming to and calling on the Almighty God.
This does not answer my question. Allow me to rephrase. I would assume you believe He speaks to you. How do you know it is indeed Him and not instead just you speaking to yourself, or, maybe you are receiving communication from another agency? I mean, does He say, "psst, it's me, Jesus here..." And then He shows you His old nail marks on His hands/wrists or something?
OneJack wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 8:37 am The bible is not the Lord God, why make the bible as the only source of what God must do and must not do? How will God come to you if you always lock yourself in the four corners of the bible?
You are missing my point. To not adhere to what the Bible says would be to believe that whoever wrote the pages of what we now refer to as the 'Bible' was not given by God in the first place. So again, how do you know that God will only speak to you if you have the right 'heart', when the Bible disagrees.
In case anyone is wondering... The avatar quote states the following:

"I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness."

Unless Paul and Peter quoted Jesus utterances, what they said and wrote were just their narratives, not the word of God. Not all written words in the bible are Gods utterances in the past.

OneJack, I think that I have already told you that the entire Jewish Christian Bible was inspired by your brutal serial killer Jesus of innocent infants and babies (1 Samuel 15:2-3) as Biblically shown below:

1. And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, THE WORD OF GOD. (1 Thessalonians 2:13)

If you don't think that the Apostle Paul, along with Silas (also called Silvanus) and Timothy who wrote 1 Thessalonians 2:13 is correct, then you are calling them LIARS, and Jesus too since he inspired their writings as shown above!

EXPLAIN:

2. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:21)[/I]

If you as well don't think that Peter who wrote the passage above is correct, then are you calling him a LIAR and Jesus too who inspired it in the first place?

EXPLAIN:

OneJack, therefore, update your meek pseudo-christian knowledge AGAIN of the Jewish Christian Bible in this respect that Jesus inspired the entire Bible, because if you say the above passages are wrong, then you are committing BLASPHEME towards your god Jesus, where you will be HELL BOUND upon your demise as biblically shown below:

But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, AND ALL LIERS, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death. (Revelation 21:8)

NEXT?!

.
I am doubting my faith at this time because my brothers are continually showing me very disturbing passages and narratives within the Christian Jewish Bible for the reason for me to leave Christianity in the 21st Century. I am willing to have any Christian try and convince me into fully staying within the Christian faith..... ANY PSEUDO-CHRISTIAN TAKERS?

Anyone who apparently speaks to God can answer that. If you are one of them, you can ask him and then tell us. Exactly how much (leeway/grace) does God allow?
Jesus taught us that all sins are forgivable, which is why He advises us to seek forgiveness for our daily transgressions each night, offering boundless mercy and grace."
The Bible claims all scripture is God breathed, which means it would have the exact same answer(s) in which God gives directly to you, or anyone. Unless you are claiming God gives differing answers to differing people, when asked the exact same question(s)?
With respect, I think your theory about the Lord God and the Bible has gaps. Consider exploring personally how Jesus guides His followers; it might resolve your questions and deepen your understanding.
The Lord Jesus instructs us to ask Him questions when He speaks to us, so we can verify it's truly Him. The confirmation comes when He reads our hearts, retrieves the questions we've been thinking of, and speaks them out loud, exactly as we've thought them, without a single mistake.
You are missing my point. To not adhere to what the Bible says would be to believe that whoever wrote the pages of what we now refer to as the 'Bible' was not given by God in the first place

If you believe in a living, eternal God, it's reasonable to question the Bible. Doubt can be a natural part of seeking truth, and seeking God's guidance can help resolve concerns about scripture.
So again, how do you know that God will only speak to you if you have the right 'heart', when the Bible disagrees.
Its both Gods call and yours, try to discover it from God himself and ignore the bible for a better yield,

False:

"31 And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come." - Matt 12:31-32

You still did not answer. How much leeway/grace is granted? The seeking cannot commence 24/7. Exactly how much is the servant allowed to fall short, as no one can seek 24/7?
OneJack wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 11:58 pm With respect, I think your theory about the Lord God and the Bible has gaps. Consider exploring personally how Jesus guides His followers; it might resolve your questions and deepen your understanding.
You stated "the bible is clear only to those whos now experiencing the shepherding of the Lord Jesus." Reading the Bible would be no different then talking to Jesus, when asked the exact same question. Why? Because:

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. - 2 Tim 3:16

So again, is God giving you differing answers, regarding the exact same questions, then He gave to the Bible authors? Of course not. And since you agree that the Bible is ambiguous about salvation, then your logic is cooked. Meaning, God is giving the same ambiguous answers to you, as He did for the authors of the Bible, who claim to also get their information directly from God.

Hmm? Can you give us a specific example, so we can know Jesus speaks to you? Please ask Jesus -- "what is POI's favorite food?" If you give me the correct answer, then I will know you did not merely concoct or manifest some ambiguous answer on your own. But let me guess... God does not work that way?

Okay, take that verse with you and Ill go with the Lord Jesus.

You still did not answer. How much leeway/grace is granted? The seeking cannot commence 24/7. Exactly how much is the servant allowed to fall short, as no one can seek 24/7?

Why not???? What we have learned from the Lord is that whenever we commit sin, we can seek for His forgiveness anytime, anywhere. Theres no time limit as to when will you seek for His forgiveness.
You stated "the bible is clear only to those whos now experiencing the shepherding of the Lord Jesus." Reading the Bible would be no different then talking to Jesus, when asked the exact same question. Why? Because:

Okay, its your choice, go for it. I wont buy that notion.
So again, is God giving you differing answers, regarding the exact same questions, then He gave to the Bible authors? Of course not.

Why not?

And since you agree that the Bible is ambiguous about salvation,

To people like you, yes it is ambiguous in that regard.
then your logic is cooked.

What logic?
Meaning, God is giving the same ambiguous answers to you,

Whats that ambiguous answer?
as He did for the authors of the Bible, who claim to also get their information directly from God.

They are long gone and have no idea how God sent them.
Hmm? Can you give us a specific example, so we can know Jesus speaks to you? Please ask Jesus -- "what is POI's favorite food?" No deal!

You did not answer my question. How do you know that God will only speak to you if you have the right 'heart'?

Why not ask God yourself why He hasn't spoken to you yet?

The verse apparently came from "the Lord". They are one in the same. This is my point. And the 'Lord' states at least one type of sin is not forgivable.
OneJack wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 9:47 am What we have learned from the Lord is that whenever we commit sin, we can seek for His forgiveness anytime, anywhere. Theres no time limit as to when will you seek for His forgiveness.
Not all sin, just some sin. And it sounds like the 'Lord' offers absolutely no grace for some sin. Which means you are wrong. So now what?
OneJack wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 9:47 am Okay, its your choice, go for it. I wont buy that notion.
I just demonstrated it is much more than a 'notion.'
OneJack wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 9:47 am Why not?

OneJack wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 9:47 am To people like you, yes it is ambiguous in that regard.
You mean ones which follow basic logic, as demonstrated in my prior post and demonstrated again directly below?
OneJack wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 9:47 am What logic?
P1) Apparently, the Bible isn't clear on the path to salvation unless Jesus reveals Himself directly to you
P2) You claim Jesus has revealed Himself directly to you
P3) God claims to have also revealed Himself directly to others in the Bible.
P4) God offers differing paths to salvation, in differing parts of the Bible, and to you.
P5) Therefore, your position is false, as it does not matter if you believe God reveals Himself directly to you, or not. God is not clear when it comes to the path to salvation, as He offers differing paths to differing folks, who claim to have received direct information from Him.
OneJack wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 9:47 am No deal!
This is likely only because you are not confident God really speaks to you. It is much safer for you, when you are not challenged, but instead only given complete carte blanche to offer baseless assertions. Again, since you claim to have direct access to Jesus, please ask Jesus what POI's favorite food is, and then tell me. When you give me the correct answer, I will immediately know you are not a liar. Failure to do so simply means you are offering baseless assertions, which anyone can do while offering apologetics for any religion.
OneJack wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 9:47 am Why not ask God yourself why He hasn't spoken to you yet?
Your response makes no logical sense. I'm asking you, since you claim to have access to the source. How do you know that God will only speak to you if you have the right 'heart'? And why does the Bible not agree?

The verse apparently came from "the Lord". They are one in the same. This is my point. And the 'Lord' states at least one type of sin is not forgivable.
Seemingly come from. But I respect your opinion. Were traveling on two parallel tracks and the chance of passing a cross path is zero, so far!
Not all sin, just some sin. And it sounds like the 'Lord' offers absolutely no grace for some sin. Which means you are wrong. So now what?
What so now what? I have no problem with that issue since the Lord taught us His stand on sins, with no exceptions.
I just demonstrated it is much more than a 'notion.'
Okay, your opinion is noted!
Hmm, so are you saying the Bible God gives you differing answers to the exact same questions/topics than He gives others, who also claim to receive answers from the same God?
No comment, you have ears to hear from, feet to come to, mouth to ask, feet to come nigh to, and ears to listen to, and a heart to decide to follow or not to follow.. thats the question?
P1) Apparently, the Bible isn't clear on the path to salvation unless Jesus reveals Himself directly to you
A resounding Yes!
P2) You claim Jesus has revealed Himself directly to you
You have just said it!
P3) God claims to have also revealed Himself directly to others in the Bible.
Could you rephrase this clearly to a grade school pupil?
P4) God offers differing paths to salvation, in differing parts of the Bible, and to you.
No, God is consistent in this issue!
P5) Therefore, your position is false, as it does not matter if you believe God reveals Himself directly to you, or not. God is not clear when it comes to the path to salvation, as He offers differing paths to differing folks, who claim to have received direct information from Him.
Same as in P4
This is likely only because you are not confident God really speaks to you.
Its the reverse, God has His own ways of responding to us every day even when we do not move our lips in talking to Him any time, anywhere.
It is much safer for you, when you are not challenged, but instead only given complete carte blanche to offer baseless assertions.
Ours is a true-to-life encounter with the Lord Jesus for more or less 14 years of random teachings and on-the-job training.
Again, since you claim to have direct access to Jesus, please ask Jesus what POI's favorite food is, and then tell me.
Let me guess first - balot at penoy with sukang iloko sauce.
When you give me the correct answer, I will immediately know you are not a liar. Failure to do so simply means you are offering baseless assertions, which anyone can do while offering apologetics for any religion.
Do you have any blood relationship to the companion of Dimas on the cross?
Your response makes no logical sense. I'm asking you, since you claim to have access to the source. How do you know that God will only speak to you if you have the right 'heart'? And why does the Bible not agree?
