I have posted what I think is the single most important issue to debate.
To me, the second most important issue is this. If there is a God, how do I determine what God requires of me? If your answer involves something that is from human agency, a book or an organization, then the question remains, "How do I know that the book's authors or the organization's leaders authoritatively speak for God?"
How do I determine what God requires of me?

At least somebody clicks on links. Even if it was just lolcats. I could have posted the picture, but I thought it might be to offensive to some of the viewers.Fallibleone wrote:Yes, and here it is. I do not feel that one can know with 100% certainty whether God exists or does not exist based on current knowledge. I'm progressing steadily towards #7, though.olavisjo wrote:I did not ask "why are you so high?" but rather "why are you not 100%?"Fallibleone wrote:I believe that what each number means was set out quite effectively by Zzyzx.
The fact that I believe both a divine Jesus and an afterlife are non-existent would figure pretty highly there.
Do you have a reason to not close the door?

I have attempted the sinners prayer. I am still an Atheist. Care to explain the failure of your method?

It took me five years from the time I first said the prayer. God used that time to prepare my hart and life to be able to receive him.upallnite wrote:I am still an Atheist. Care to explain the failure of your method?
Do you feel any desire to make God real in your life?

I am now nearly 20 years on from when I first attempted to pray to God.

When you find the abundant life that Jesus came to bring, you will have so much joy in life, that all things will become rewarding beyond measure.John 10:10 wrote:

Give me some reason to believe that this is anything more than a pipe dream.olavisjo wrote:When you find the abundant life that Jesus came to bring, you will have so much joy in life, that all things will become rewarding beyond measure.

It is not a pipe dream, the Kingdom of Heaven is going to be established on Earth very soon, even if I have to usher it in all by myself, which I don't have to do. I have many, many brothers and sisters all working night and day to make this a reality. And it will happen.McCulloch wrote: Give me some reason to believe that this is anything more than a pipe dream.
I used to attend Stone Church, near Bloor and Young at 45 Davenport Road, it would be a good place for you to go, if you really want to find a reason to believe. If you are waiting for someone to say something that would give you reason to believe, it will not happen like that. God must place the reason directly into your mind and heart, you just need to create a place for him to insert it into.

McC asked for a reason why it is not a pipe dream.., you don't seem to have one.olavisjo wrote:It is not a pipe dream, the Kingdom of Heaven is going to be established on Earth very soon, even if I have to usher it in all by myself, which I don't have to do.McCulloch wrote: Give me some reason to believe that this is anything more than a pipe dream.
The Kingdom of Heaven has been promised 'soon' for the last 3000 years...why is your time so special hat it will come for you.
Why can't he create the place given he created me?olavisjo wrote: God must place the reason directly into your mind and heart, you just need to create a place for him to insert it into.

I'm a bit disappointed that there is nothing here about why it is not a pipe dream.olavisjo wrote:Join me, together we will make it happen, let us start here and let us start now.
