Gospel truth – or a grand conspiracy?

If the Gospels and Epistle writers were not being truthful in their depictions of Jesus Christ as a miracle worker, the Jewish Messiah, the Son of God, the resurrected Savior, and so on, then I think someone needs to provide a compelling motive, backed up by some sort of credible evidence, as to why some nine or so different New Testament authors shared such a common vision? What was their motive for a non-Biblical Jesus, considering their lives were on the line either way, and since such a pack of (alleged) lies should be easily refuted by others who knew a “different” Jesus? Why the “grand conspiracy” if Jesus is not who they claimed?

So, two things are asked for here: (1) A credible motive for a non-Biblical Jesus that takes into account the authors putting their lives on the line for an alleged lie (or whatever), and (2) Some kind of credible evidence to support that theory.

Evolution is true because evolutionary text books written by evolutionist say so.

We atheists believe that something can come from nothing because we haven't seen the mechanism that has created this incredibly complex world in which we view that complex structures can happen all by themselves.

Watch that tree turn itself into a chair?

See? It didn't.

There is no god.

Just we humans.

Which were once ape-like things. That were squirrels or something before becoming ape-like things. Which were, uh, umm, which were . . . . . .

Oh just read the evolution books. They tell you.

They were written by evolutionists. They have to be right. Evolutionists don't lie. That often. They always admit when they did lie when they get caught in their lies. So . . . you can trust them. I read about that in an evolution book.

We atheists that do not believe in the Bible and reject those that present circular reasoning.

Ask Mr Spock.

What?????

What do you mean he's not a real person? Of course not you idiot. He's a Vulcan. Errgh. You Christians are sooooo stupid.

Ouch! Oooh. Ouch!

Damn I hate it when I'm evolving.

OUCH! OOOH. Ahhhg!

How did the sun get "up" there again?

Start from the beginning. I'll wait.

This is a straw man argument. You cannot find an evolutionary scientist who believes that evolution is true because evolutionist say so. Of course, outside of scientists who specialize in the field, yes, you could find some who defer to their authority and expertise. I believe that blood contains white and red blood cells because biologists say so. I have not viewed the evidence myself. I believe that viruses exist and that they are smaller than human cells because microbiologists say so. One of the reasons why I trust their conclusions is that I know that they are subject to peer review. That means that every new idea is challenged by existing experts in the field. If they can disprove the new idea, they will. They hate for a new idea to be presented without them getting the credit. Scientists can be jealous sometimes. If there are more than one viable but incompatible theory to explain something then the researchers work very hard to determine which ones are untrue.

Please do not presume to speak for someone else unless you have evidence to support your assertion that the group of people you speak for actually make the claim you claim that they make. I have not seen any uniform agreement by atheists regarding the ultimate origin of the universe, although the most common response is an honest "I don't know".

Again, please provide evidence that there are atheists who hold this position. Evolutionists do lie. Scientists lie. Christians lie. Everyone at some time lies. Sometimes deliberately sometimes unknowingly. This is why claims need to be tested. By experts because they could trick me.

Now you are just getting frivolous .
Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
