I have been sickened by sick bigots who use the Bible to defend their nastiness. Extremist Christians often condemn homosexuality and want it made illegal. There is nothing wrong with being gay, and as I have pointed out often enough it is possible Jesus was gay as he is said to have had a specific disciple whom he loved, who was presumably a male.
I came across an evil white supremist 'Christian' claiming that Jesus was white, and not of middle eastern appearance as he would have been. His racist comments were disgusting and then some.
Then there are those Christians who condemn women who are pregnant without a wedding ring on their finger, dismissing the fact Mary was supposed to have been pregnant with Jesus before they were wed. They bang on about how terrible sex before marriage is supposed to be, totally forgetting that quite a number of male Biblical characters were having it off with women other than their wives, like that guy Abraham, and Solomon supposedly had loads of concubines.
Many of the Biblical characters behaved badly, including the god featured there, but some people look upon them as heroes, WHY?

Post #2Yes, people have suffered horribly over the centuries because of what is written in the Bible, and human subservience to that text. Common sense suggests that if one of the characters is a mass murderer it would be wise not to follow any of his instructions; but unfortunately the mass murderer mixes good with bad, because he's the composition of people who wanted toughness, subjugation and some moral rules, especially ones controlling women.JJ50 wrote:

We hear of Christian parents subjecting their children to what amounts to torture to rid them of the sexuality with which they were born, on the basis that Yahweh hates it. In a kinder system perhaps such parents can be punished, but much of the world is still under biblical culture. Christianity's "improvement", Islam, which means "submission" is if anything five shades worse.
One would have thought the rockets we sent into space would have annihilated Yahweh and his brother Allah, but they apparently missed. Ergo suffering will go on.

PCE Theology as I see it...
We had an existence with a free will in Sheol before the creation of the physical universe. Here we chose to be able to become holy or to be eternally evil in YHWH's sight. Then the physical universe was created and all sinners were sent to earth.
This theology debunks the need to base Christianity upon the blasphemy of creating us in Adam's sin.

Christianity is divisive …
Deliberately so.
As Member Marco has illustrated scripturally on numerous occasions …
The Divine Leader from the Christian-Jewish propaganda is written of as visiting this planet to cause division …
Families … sheep and goats and such.
(And it's worth noting carefully that the Divine Leader is NOT ever quoted in his gospel propaganda as visiting the planet he created and flooded to die for the sins of the world.)
Christians can and do - to a greater or lesser degree - use the biblical propaganda to support their senses of moral and "spiritual" superiority, and to justify bigotry.
Think of how Christians refer to certain non-Christian cultures as "pagan", for example.
"God" … just whatever humans imagine it to be.
"Scripture" … just whatever humans write it to be.
"Scripture" … just whatever humans write it to be.

I am familiar with how the Bible has been used to defend nastiness, but not with how science has been used to defend nastiness like the genetic theories of racism. Could you please elaborate. Will this be in counterpoint to how I have been sickened by the bigots who use science to defend their nastiness like the genetic theories of racism?
George Orwell:: “The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those who speak it.”
Voltaire: "Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities."
Gender ideology is anti-science, anti truth.

2 examples, well cited:
1. Dachau science on Jews in concentration camps.
2. Tuskegee syphilis experiments on African-Americans in prison.
