If you're not Lotan, feel free to post here, but don't expect me to reply. This is a one on one debate between Lotan and I.
Lotan: please state your stance on the gospel Jesus and support your assertions with evidence.
Lotan: state you claim for the existence of Jesus

If you two really want to have a one-on-one debate, we do have an one-on-one subforum in limbo that I can activate. Do you two want me to activate it and put this thread there?

Everybody would still be able to read it. Only Lotan and The Duke of Vandals would be able to post.d.thomas wrote:I'd be interested to read the evidence that Lotan provides. I have no objection to it staying and I'll try to stay out of it.

Depends what you mean by "the gospel Jesus".

I don't think you need to bother. I don't usually stray from this subforum anyway. If anyone wants to comment, that's fine with me.

Which part of Gospel Jesus are you not understanding? Present your stance on the matter in the next post or concede the debate.Lotan wrote:Depends what you mean by "the gospel Jesus".

All of it. Do you mean the Jesus in the gospel of Mark or the Jesus in the gospel of John, or the Jesus in the gospel of Thomas, but not the Jesus that Paul talks about? And what about the Jesus that Josephus mentions? Do you mean the Jesus who allegedly walked on water, or the Jesus who is credited with the parable of the sower? The Duke of Vandals wrote:Which part of Gospel Jesus are you not understanding?
Why do you think it's necessary to qualify him as "the gospel Jesus"?
The forum rules are pretty clear...
When you start a new topic in a debate subforum, it must state a clearly defined question(s) for debate.
Never mind that you haven't presented a question, define clearly what it is that you mean by "the gospel Jesus" (as opposed to some other Jesus?) and then maybe we can proceed.

Apparently, you're having some reading comprehension issues:Lotan wrote:When you start a new topic in a debate subforum, it must state a clearly defined question(s) for debate.

Stop evading and present your stance on the gospel Jesus. I'm not going to define your stance for you beyond the Jesus referred to in the Christian gospels. You're old enough that you shouldn't need me to hold your hand and too smart to be stupid enough to miss the debate topic simply because it didn't end in a question mark.
Last chance: present your claim in your next post or you concede. Period.

TDoV, I suspect that you did you ask Lotan ahead of time if you two are going to engage in a one-on-one debate. Since he did not obligate himself ahead of time, there is actually no need for him to even respond at all to this thread. The Duke of Vandals wrote:Last chance: present your claim in your next post or you concede. Further, even if he did agree, silence does not meet concession. There is no rule stating that one must post anything, even when issued an ultimatum.
