gematria is a calculation, a number from a name, a word, a phrase. every letter has a number allocated. the amount of all numbers is the number allocated to that word. if in latin alphabet, you allocate to the letter z, the number 1 and to next letters in inverse order of the alphabet, you allocate 2,3,4, etc, until 10, then 10,20,30, etc, until 100, then 100,200,300, etc, until last letter a, the word (name) hitler is 666. h=100, i=90, t=7, l=60, e=400, r=9. this is one of many possible gematries. in "real" gematria, the hebrew alphabet, nero is the only famous person with the number 666.

The BEAST is the same entity before and after a period of inactivity:

• - Hitler and Nero were different people (reincarnation is not a biblical teaching)
  
  - Rome and Hitler's Third Reich are also two seperate and unrelated ruling powers powers
  
  - Rome /Nero existed outside the timeframe of the prophecies application ("the Lords day)
  
  - the beast exercises GLOBAL power which was arguably the case for Rome but not for Hitler's Third Reich

I dont think the beast is two men at all ( for the reasons above), whether the "most evil" or not.

Alone a human cannot exercise the kind of global power this beast seems to have imposing a "mark" on every human on the planet. Even if it were an evil man, you'd just have to wait 70 or 80 years and he'd die anyway. No need for Jesus to return and slay it, time or a bad flu and "it" would die on its own.

It means both the false prophet and the wild beat will eventually be completely destroyed (By Jesus). The lake of fire signifying complete annihilation.

Alive is the opposite of dead.

Yes they were cast (which means thrown) alive into the lake. By the time they went under the surface they would be dead (it was after all a lake of fire - nothing lives long in fire).
