This single prophecy leaves no doubt that there has NEVER been a time since the reign of king David when there wasn’t one of his descendants to SIT on the Throne of David. This also automatically reduces the possibilities for the people Israel to a single monarchy (and also rules out "the Jews", who clearly don't have a monarchy).

2) Israel SHALL become “a nation AND a company of nations”.

Even if that were true, which it isn't, it has no bearing on the fact presented in the previous verse about the blindness of part of Israel (the 10 "Lost" Tribes) as to their true identity.

And, of course, we have the sure word of prophecy from Daniel 12:7, which it appears you either didn't bother to look up or ignored, telling us exactly when Jerusalem would be liberated from the Gentiles by the Israelites.

First, how could there be an ancient Hebrew word for "British" when Great Britain didn't receive its name until the early 18th century?

From antiquity, the transliterated Hebrew word for "Covenant" is "Brit". As Hebrew doesn't have vowels, and is written right to left, it is sometimes transliterated in slightly different ways, but they all have in common "Brit".

There has only ever been one people with whom God made His Covenant: The Israelites, i.e. the descendants of the 12 sons of Jacob/Israel. So we can be absolutely certain that it isn't a "coincidence" that a people came along -- that just happen to have a monarchy that can trace its roots from England back through Scotland and Ireland to Jerusalem, and from there back to king David -- and became known to the world as the British.

The Celtics were also Israelites. So it isn't surprising to see someone make the above connection, but it doesn't negate the fact that the British are Israelites; it actually makes it even more obvious.

The word Celt is the Anglicised form of the Greek word Keltoi, which means "the people who are different.*" In Scripture, all nations, except the Twelve Tribes of Israel, are referred to as Gentiles (Foreigners), so the only people who are different are Israel.
