The big lie

Bible chronology takes us back 6000 years to the fall of Adam and Eve. How long the two lived in the garden before the fall is unknown. Some 1600 years later, the Bible speaks of a global flood. We must keep in mind, at that time, the Earth was one land mass and not divided into continents.

Pompeii, Mt. Saint Helen, and Krakatoa are fairly recent events, also in 1628–1600 B.C. Thera (Santorini) was one of the largest Volcanic eruptions in human history. Each left their mark on the earth. Now, when science speaks of millions of years, they never factor in the unknown conditions of weather changes and other catastrophes.

Over the past 6,000 years, there have been multiple catastrophic, global-scale disruptions to the carbon cycle (floods, mega-volcanoes, rapid climate shifts, ocean overturning, biomass burial), and radiometric dating methods, especially carbon dating. When these events occur, science cannot reliably prove “millions of years.” Their methods only work if the world has been stable for long periods. So, why do they continue to claim millions of years for ancient fossils? Because it’s the work of the great deceiver, the devil.

Science's one giant assumption, stability. Every radiometric method, carbon 14, potassium argon, uranium lead, depends on the idea that decay rates stayed constant, the environment stayed stable, no contamination occurred, no catastrophic mixing happened, and no massive carbon cycle disruptions occurred. For them, this is the foundation of their science. Only if the world were stable for millions of years would their methods work; and because the earth is not stable, their methods break down.

Pompeii, Mt. St. Helens, and Krakatoa have proven that their methods break down after a catastrophe. These are well-documented events, we know the exact dates. Yet radiocarbon dating gives Pompeii 100–500 years too old, for Mt. St. Helens, fresh wood dated hundreds of years to old, and for Krakatoa, marine samples centuries too old. These truths have been published in mainstream journals.

So, if small, local catastrophes distort radiocarbon ages by hundreds of years, then what would global catastrophes do? It would destroy the assumptions behind radiometric dating. A worldwide flood (or even multiple mega-catastrophes) would cause massive ocean mixing, volcanic CO₂ injection, atmospheric darkness, rapid burial of forests, rapid sedimentation, changes in cosmic ray exposure, changes in atmospheric chemistry, changes in the biosphere size, and changes in carbon reservoirs, each known to distort radiocarbon ages.

This only includes carbon dating. Other radiometric methods also break down under rapid cooling, rapid heating, pressure changes, hydrothermal fluids, argon loss or gain, uranium leaching, and lead mobility, all documented in the literature. So why do scientists continue to claim, “millions of years”? Because they assume that there was no global flood, no rapid continent-scale sedimentation, no rapid fossilization, no rapid mountain uplift, no rapid canyon formation, no global volcanism, and no catastrophic mixing of reservoirs.

There are well over 200 distinct ancient flood reports worldwide, the most commonly cited being 200–300 independent flood narratives. Yet they are all ignored. They have come from the Genesis narrative, Ancient Mesopotamia, Greece, India, China, Indigenous Americans, Africa, and Australia. So, it appears that science's reasoning is circular. They assume the Earth is millions of years old only because radiometric dating says so. Radiometric dating works because the Earth has been stable for millions of years.

Getting past the Genesis account of creation is probably the most difficult hurdle for anyone to get over, especially today. Satan opposes the Lord Jesus, who created all things, and by his word has revealed his wonderful work of creation. To deny the Creation is to deny the Lord Jesus. And because of denial, the Lord will send them more strong delusions, that they should believe the lie.
