What is meant by the following two verses?

Jesus said of Himself, "I am the Light of the world."
And Christians are called "The children of the light."

I'm beginning to understand why churches are emptying out, and why Paul wrote, "Because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved."
ya, okay. And the truth is (always) in brackets.
No, the explanation is always in brackets.

YOUR interpretation. YOUR beliefs. YOUR understanding. YOUR explanation.

Flour, water and salt make dough--- Add your yeast and then when you twist it, you get a pretzel. It's no longer what it was before the yeast and the twisting.

I will only answer this one paragraph you wrote."Christ Himself is Immanuel, God with us all the time; hence, Christ is beside you/me/them all the time, though we do not see Him yet. In the absence of the Son of God, per se, Jesus Christ remains with us always because He is the Almighty God who came in the flesh - the flesh of the Son of God, per se, the man who was born of Mary, during His incarnation. Therefore, the absent is the Son of God, per se, the man who was Jesus' physical vessel in His incarnation."

Never said Jesus was not the Almighty;
Fine, therefore, you agree Jesus is the Almighty God. Hope you don't get this skewed somewhere along this conversation.
never said he was not born of Mary,
I'm the one who says Jesus was not born of Mary. How could Jesus, the Almighty, be born of Mary? The Son of God, per se, was the one who was born of Mary, and to whom the name of the Almighty God - Jesus - was given by God. Therefore, the difference between the words 'Jesus' and the 'Son of God' is that the former is the name of the Almighty; hence, Jesus is the Almighty God, while the latter is the man who served as the physical vessel of the Almighty God in His incarnation.
so stop lying about things I never said.
I'm not lying, your narrative lies on two counts, to wit:
1. In the absence of Christ, and
2. His place is taken by the Light of the Scriptures.

As for the rest of your comments, yes, Jesus the Christ is beside me through His Comforter, the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Himself is always beside you/me/them because He is Immanuel, God with us always. The Lord Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to His sons, friends, and families on purpose, not to indwell permanently.
Now, if you can read and comprehend, consider the following words of Jesus Christ himself.
John 14:2-3, Jesus said, "In my Father's house, there are many mansions. ---- I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I WILL COME AGAIN and receive you to myself; that WHERE I AM, there you may be also.
If you were there with the apostles, you would see the Son of God, per se, who uttered those words. You would not see Jesus because He (Jesus) was the Spirit and Life that was in the Son; hence, the Lord Jesus spoke those words through the Son of God, who will be, in due time, absent from the apostles and disciples, but Jesus, who is Immanuel, is always with them, though they didn't see Him at all. Do you now realize that Immanuel is Jesus, and it will never happen that Jesus be absent from anyone across all generations? Jesus will come again in the same manner as the Son was taken from the apostles and disciples - through the Son of Man (see Matt 24), and this event will be seen by all starting from Adam up to the last man standing on Judgment Day.
Then he said, John 14:26, "When the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things,"

Then Jesus Christ said, John 15:26, "But when the comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, HE SHALL TESTIFY OF ME."

Then Jesus the Christ said, John 16:13, "When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall NOT SPEAK OF HIMSELF; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come."
The Father is Jesus; hence, Jesus is the one who sends the Holy Spirit. The Son of God, per se, not Jesus as the Almighty God, is gone, but Jesus is still with all of us across all generations. Have you experienced being taught by the Holy Spirit? If so, how does that transpire in your life today?
Acts 1:9-10: Forty days after his resurrection, we find Jesus with his disciples standing on the Mount of Olives. He is ready to return to his place in heaven, the place from where he came. Now the question: "Did Jesus leave the earth, return to heaven, and then send the Holy Spirit to us?"

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!
You don't know what you're saying here. Bear in mind that you agree Jesus is the Almighty God, and the Lord God is omnipresent, isn't God? The author of the Book of Acts was only expressing his opinion about Jesus, since he portrayed Jesus as if He were a finite man who, when He was on earth, would surely be absent from heaven. He seemed not to be privy to the fact that Jesus is Immanuel, who is always with us across all generations. The one who left the earth is the Son of God, not Jesus.

Acts 1:9-10, "And when he (Jesus) had said these things, HE WAS TAKEN UP; AND A CLOUD RECEIVED HIM OUT OF THEIR SIGHT." Verse 11, "This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in the same way as you have seen him go into heaven." Zachariah 14:1-4 gives us the time of his return

"Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, --- verse 2, I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, ---- verse 3, "Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against hose nations," verse 4, "And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem ---."

Now that's the true story, not the nonsense you are trying to sell.
Haven't you read that the Lord Jesus will come again through the Son of Man? Don't ever imagine that Jesus is not here with us all the time, for if you do, you're then contradicting your belief that Jesus is the Almighty God, who is omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent, and omnibenevolent.

Very simply, @placebofactor, those two designations mean that Jesus comes into the world to light up its darkness in sin, while those who commit their lives to him become his light in the world.

I think that it's connected to Paul's statement that we believers have God's glory growing within us that must shine with our words and works:

Jhn_9:5  As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” Then, he heals the man who has been born blind and who sticks up for Jesus with the Pharisees.

Mat_5:14  “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden."

2Co 3:18  And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
