In discussing Christian scripture with others, I sometimes encounter the assertion that "interpretation" is a legitimate factor in assessing the nature of said scripture.
According to Google, Liberal Christianity "interprets Christian teachings by prioritizing modern knowledge, science, and ethics over traditional doctrinal authority".
If even the more conservative apologist defends Christian scripture by allowing for interpretation of it, how much criticism is it fair to level at more liberal interpretations of Christianity?
What exactly is wrong with Liberal Christianity?

Yes it does, because adultery is one of the laws for which no mercy is prescribed, only a death sentence. Now that we've established the law of Moses shows mercy, then the LORD showing mercy for adultery, does not contradict His law.

I always reject the unbelieving and disobedient trying to teach Scripture and law of God. Their unbelief will always change the Scriptures and law into something else for the worse to justify themselves.
It's like when trying to tell Christians how to be Christians...

There is no conservative Christianity, liberal Christianity or other Christianity in the New Testament. James 1:27 defines what kind of religion is acceptable to God, which isn't remotely the same as Christianity.

What is wrong with liberal Christianity is the same thing that is wrong with Conservative Christianity; neither religion is in the Bible.

I think you need to look for consistency. Does the whole of scripture support the liberal or conservative premise? --- whatever one's belief may be?

Before anything else, that depends on the whole of scripture being consistent.I think you need to look for consistency. Does the whole of scripture support the liberal or conservative premise? --- whatever one's belief may be?

The annoying thing is that there are so many, who believe you must believe exactly as they do, thinking that they are some sort of authority with the final word on the matter.
Fair enough. Maybe the point you are making in asking your question the way you did is simply that all believers rely on interpretation of scriptures. I think that is true. Whether liberal or conservative, whether it's one's personal opinion, or something they heard from others, we all interpret scripture the way we do because it aligns with our thinking, or because we then try to align our thinking with our personal beliefs. Our actions then follow our beliefs and our beliefs follow our adopted interpretations. Before anything else, that depends on the whole of scripture being consistent.
