Expelled (No Intelligence Allowed) - Documentary

Post by Jason Trivium »

For those of you who might not know, the entire film Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed is now on You Tube.

What do you think, are the media and our public schools suppressing scientific truth in favor of a liberal/Secular/Atheist worldview?

Honestly, it's a very bad propoganda peice, filled with trite insinuations, outright misrepresentations, and misinformation.

Like, for example, having all that Nazi imagery when talkinag about evolution.

Or, saying that one person was fired from the smithsonian, when he NEVER was working for them to begin with.

And on and on and on.

You can get a lot of back ground information at Expelled Exposed
“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

Hi Goat, thanks so much for stopping by and commenting, I really appreciate the chance to discuss. I realize that from the point of view of many Atheists, the film seemed like a very bad propaganda piece, filled with trite insinuations, outright misrepresentations, and misinformation. But from my perspective as a Christian and a young earth creationist, the film accurately depicted the persecution anyone questioning naturalism faces from the evolutionist community.

Concerning Richard Sternbergs situation, he puts it in his own words below, from his website http://www.richardsternberg.com/smithsonian.php As you can see, the account of what happened to him was not made up:
In 2004, in my capacity as editor of The Proceedings of the Biological Society of Washington, I authorized The Origin of Biological Information and the Higher Taxonomic Categories by Dr. Stephen Meyer to be published in the journal after passing peer-review. Because Dr. Meyers article presented scientific evidence for intelligent design in biology, I faced retaliation, defamation, harassment, and a hostile work environment at the Smithsonians National Museum of Natural History that was designed to force me out as a Research Associate there. These actions were taken by federal government employees acting in concert with an outside advocacy group, the National Center for Science Education. Efforts were also made to get me fired from my job as a staff scientist at the National Center for Biotechnology Information. Subsequently, there were two federal investigations of my mistreatment, one by the U.S. Office of Special Counsel in 2005 , and the other by subcommittee staff of the U.S. House Committee on Government Reform in 2006. Both investigations unearthed clear evidence that my rights had been repeatedly violated. Because there has been so much misinformation spread about what actually happened to me, I have decided to make available the relevant documents here for those who would like to know the truth.
Regarding the rest of the claims of misinformation, at this point we are left with our two sources. I have the people who made the film, and you have their detractors. I must confess I believe the people who made Expelled.

Again, thank you so much for taking the time to discuss the issue, take good care.

That's the thing. It didn't pass peer-review, he unilateral published it by giving the paper a pass himself. He faced "retaliation" because of his misconduct.

As for the two federal investigations of his mistreatment, the Office of Special Counsel did not actually proceed beyond its initial investigation because it had no jurisdiction, made no official findings and have since dropped the case. And the U.S. House Committee on Government Reform investigation? It simply wasn't. It was published as an individual representative without it being the official position of the Committee.

All of these are very well documented, don't take my word for it, look it up yourself.
I must confess I believe the people who made Expelled.
Do you still believe them now?

Hello Bust Nak, nice to meet you. Thanks so much for taking the time to read my post and offer a thoughtful response, I appreciate it. I have to say I really respect the amount of time youve obviously put into investigating the matter and preparing to discuss it.

Ill be the first to admit I am not an expert on the details surrounding Dr. Sternbergs case, but I do believe the report of the incident given in the film. As for the two federal investigations of his mistreatment, I understand that it is very difficult to prove things in court, especially when there is a conspiracy to suppress evidence of wrongdoing. And I believe that was the case in Dr. Sternbergs situation. When you look at the testimony of the entire film, and the fact that it is illegal to even teach Intelligent Design in schools, I think the truth of the matter is perfectly clear.

You said, He faced "retaliation" because of his misconduct. I dont agree that it was misconduct, but for the sake of argument lets say it was. Are you suggesting that the attempt to destroy Dr. Sternbergs career and life was justified retaliation? To me it is clear that the Darwinists sought to destroy Dr. Sternberg professionally because he disagreed with them. I cannot see such action as anything less than criminal.

Again, thank you for taking the time to read my post and respond, youre clearly a smart person who has done your homework.
