Three questions about this forum

Post by AdHoc »

I've noticed a few things that I am curious but hesitant to ask about...

1) What is a spider?

2) What does it mean when a user's name is written in black and bolded?

3) Where is the "one on one" forum? Is it hidden until you belong?

I feel like there might be a shroud of obsfucation surrounding these topics and if I am asking questions that could get a person... Um... "rubbed out" or "disappeared" then it not me thats asking its...

Er...

playhavock

As for the first question, a spider is a bot. There are spambots that create fake accounts and upload links, and then there are spiders that do whatever this means.

Not sure about the other things. :?

They are on Otseng's black list.

No, just kidding, they are moderators like...

I believe a bolded black username means that the user is a moderator of some(usually one) subforums, insofar as they can post stickies, announcements, etc.
I'm unaware of how much control they have.

The "one on one" forum is, I assume, the Head-to-Head, available here:
