Post #101No, you're not turning this around on me. I said I want proof that man did not exist with the dinosaurs. I want proof that dinosaurs ate meat long before man existed on the face of the earth. Now show the evidence. I won't ask again. If you fail to show the evidence, you're just wasting my time.Divine Insight wrote:Carbon dating is only one of many ways that scientists know the age of the earth and past events. Also, just because you don't trust it doesn't mean anything. Science has proven the limits of error for this kind of testing, and it can't possibly be off as much as it would need to be off to support the mythology that you claim to be the "Word of God".Sonofason wrote: Sorry, it's not proof of anything. It could be a defensive wound for all you know.
And it certainly does not prove that men were not on the planet when dinosaurs were on the planet. I don't trust carbon dating, so you're going to need more evidence to convince me of your claim and assumptions.
Moreover, where is your proof that your mythology is the "Word of God"?
Other than the fact that the mythology itself makes this claim there is no reason to believe that it is anything more than mythology written by men.
I can show that those myths are false without even referencing any known scientific knowledge at all.

Then do it. Please, show that any biblical account is false. Do it.I can show that those myths are false without even referencing any known scientific knowledge at all.

Post #103You are trivializing the evidence. Tyrannosaurus Rex is clearly a carnivore. You simply don't need that kind of teeth and claws it had to eat plants.Sonofason wrote: Goat did not supply any evidence. He supplied a website full of unsupported claims and quite possibly false assumptions. A tooth stuck in another dinosaur is not necessarily evidence that a dinosaur nearly got eaten. Why do you jump to these possibly false assumptions?
Are you in denial that many modern day animals are natural carnivores?
Besides, denying science doesn't support Greek mythology, or Hebrew mythology anyway.
I wouldn't even bother bringing science up to dismiss either religion. But if we're going to consider scientific evidence then clearly the Bible is a lie based on scientific evidence.
I think we can see that it's just a man made superstition even without any scientific evidence. The God portrayed in these fairytales simply isn't intelligent enough to be an all-wise divine being. It can only be a fictional God made up by men.
Have you ever noticed that in the Bible this fictional God always uses really crude and violent attempts to solve his problems? And have you ever noticed that even according to these fairytales themselves they never ever work?
The Biblical God doesn't solve a single solitary problem the whole way through the collection of fables. If anything the problems just keep getting worse.

Post #104The story of Adam and Eve is necessarily false. Its based on absolute contradictions.Sonofason wrote: Then do it. Please, show that any biblical account is false. Do it.
Adam and Eve were supposedly without the knowledge of good and evil before they ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. ]
Therefore, Eve could not possibly have known what a lie even was, or that anyone would be capable of lying. Because lying is evil and Eve had no knowledge of evil.
Yet she is blamed by God for believing a lie.
So there you go. Proof positive that the Bible is nothing more than a fictional story. And not even a very bright one at that. Who ever wrote this story wasn't even thinking at all. They had no clue that they were creating a situation that any genuine all-wise God would know better than to create.
I'm not even an all-wise God and I can see that. So clearly an all-wise God wouldn't have made such a stupid mistake.
The story of Adam and Eve cannot be true.
Yet that is the foundation for all that follows, and they fables just go down hill from there.
No science required. The Bible is clearly nothing more than a false fable. And one that wasn't even very well written. I could have written a better fable myself.

I see, you have no evidence. That's what I thought. The atheist never does show any evidence for his claims, yet they deny the overwhelming evidence for God. It's a joke really. You all are full of it. If you only knew how little you know, and how transparent you all are. Send me away Hose. I've had enough.
There is PLENTY of evidence.. for example..
This is showing that T-Rex was a hunter, 65 million years before man
http://www.nbcnews.com/science/crunch-t ... 6C10640610
And it certainly does not prove that men were not on the planet when dinosaurs were on the planet. I don't trust carbon dating, so you're going to need more evidence to convince me of your claim and assumptions.
And now you are 'shifting the goal posts', and oh, by the way, hand waving the evidence away, and also mixing up the concept of 'proof' and 'evidence'.
Proof is for mathematics and alchohol, .. there is no other 'PROOF'.
It shows your ignorance of science by bringing up 'carbon dating'. Carbon dating , because of the relatively short half life of C-14, is only accurate to approximately 50K years. Dinosaur bones are much older.
THere is no evidence that can be strong enough to those who deny evidence, and the scientific knowledge we have. However, don't expect people to take someone seriously if they show huge gaps in basic understanding of science.
If you want to argue against something, at least know enough about it that you can actually argue against what is stated, rather than a massive straw man.
“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

The fact that you think scientist use carbon dating for things that are millions of years old shows that you know nothing about carbon dating. How do you know if you trust carbon dating if you don't even know the basics about it. Why did you spell Jos as "Hose"? Are these the actions of someone who is far superior in intelligence than anyone Divine Insight will ever know?

Post #109Am I wrong or did SOS claim at one time that he would have had his BSc if he'd only finished one or two units? Just my recollection of past posts and may be inaccurate.help3434 wrote: [Replying to post 97 by Sonofason]

I feel confident that he also claimed to have studied units regarding evolution. The arguments he proffers in his posts, seem to me to absolutely deny these claims.
If SoS cannot even understand C14 dating, do we really have any need to discuss evolution with him?
