Donald Trump

What do you make of this guy? If he actually wins the presidency (which is a real possibility) what country will you move to?

Imo, he's highly entertaining to watch, and I'm eagerly awaiting the first republican presidential debate to see how crazy it'll be. The only real benefit of him entering the race is that it'll cause people who were probably apathetic when it came to politics to tune in and inform themselves on the issues.

I think he has tapped into a lot of the ourtrage folks have been feeling with traditional politicians. Love him or hate him, he certainly speaks his mind.

Ari Fleicher, (President W Bush's former press secretary) had a good observation. Trump is at around 30% now, and with a field of about 15 Republican candidates, that is enough to put him at the top.

But as the field starts to dwindle, as it inevitably will, that 30% ceiling will not be enough to keep him at the top, and it is very unlikely that he will win the nomination.
My theological positions:

-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.

I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

Further evidence that Trump is a joke, a clown show, an arrogant ignoramus is that Dennis Rodman has endorsed him. :D Is that what Presidential politics has come to?
That 'The Worm's' endorsement means something positive?

Hey, we know Dennis Rodman has good taste in political leaders. He is friends with the Dictator of North Korea after all.

:D Now that you mention it, 'The Donald' and Kim Jong-un have more in common than just goofy hair.

Rodman is probably just returning the favor since Trump endorsed his "basketball diplomacy."

On the Democratic side you have a self-described socialist (Sanders), a pro-war, anti-environment conservative-lite (Clinton), and a few lackluster liberal state governors, and on the Republican side you have a cadre of far-right individuals all competing with each other to see who can make the most ridiculous and offensive statements about pretty much anything (Trump, Huckabee, Carson, Cruz, Walker, et cetera, et cetera).

Where is the sensible, rational moderate in this election? There doesn't seem to be one (except maybe Clinton, but then she's very much in favor of an interventionist foreign policy).

It's too early to tell, but it's looking like another third party vote for me next year.
Speaking from the other side of the Pacific...what about Bernie Sanders?

I agree with him on social issues, but I think he's too far left on economic issues (not just liberal, but actually socialist). He'd be terrible for the economy--raising taxes dramatically would erase the gains we've made since the Great Recession.

If you want a candidate that matches your standards, you can always run yourself. The only problem, in a democratic republic, is that everyone else wants a candidate that matches their standards.

That is not a problem but a strength.

In a properly functioning democratic republic the candidate that matches the standards of a majority of voters is elected.

Unfortunately, the present US democratic republic doesn't appear to be functioning very well for a number of reasons.

Trump took that debate like Hitler took Paris.
He sure shocked a lot of people and has a huge following among voters.
If he wins the Presidency I'm moving to Australia.
