Is it sinful to treat women with due respect and as equals?

(Yes, I'm being facetious)

Why are we giving women equal rights?

Why do we allow them to speak in church?

Why don't we insist that they marry their rapist after paying their father the bride price?

Why don't we stone them to death if they don't scream loud enough while being raped?

Why aren't we marrying off the virgins after we've killed off their entire extended family?

Why do Christians consider many Isis style Muslims to be corrupt immoral murderers when they are actually following the Old Testament rules more closely than almost any Christian?

The bible is the essence of morality (apparently) so why are we taking it upon ourselves not to follow explicit biblical instructions? Surely we are too small brained to know the mind of the amazing creator god so perhaps we shouldn't try to edit his message.

Christians seem pretty set on the parts of the bible that relate to subjects like homosexuality. Any reference to homosexuals is taken literally. Why aren't we following gods law as it relates to women?

I would like to ask you first...have you read the bible? and if so, do you understand how the Bible is laid out?

Do you understand God's LAWS compared to Jesus's Grace?

Do you really understand the history of life back in the old testament? and the workings, and beliefs and the faux pas of the Israelites, and the culture of that time?

When you really understand this then you will see that yes, women back then were treated like chattel and horribly mistreated...

But, until you can understand the thinking of the men back then and the task that God had in order to get these barbaric people in His line of thinking, will you truly understand the role that women played.

But of course, you missed the fact that women thru out the bible (Ruth, Esther, Sarah, etc etc) played a huge part in the furthering of biblical history.

So, please take the blinders off of your eyes and realize that man is sinful, and will act upon their sinful nature..and yes, you see quite plainly just how this sinful nature was so cruel...

Are women equal to men? I think what that question really is asking is are we the same. No men and women aren't the same, obviously. Does that men they are inferior? No. Men and women just play different roles, at least most of the time. Just because someone is different doesn't mean you treat them as though they are inferior. The role of a woman is just as important as a mans. With everything we do, love and respect should be at the center of it.

Please explain what differences there are between men and women to justify
- women not being allowed to speak in church (1 Corinthians 14:34)
- women being forced to marry their rapist (Deuteronomy 22:28-29)
