Timothy 2:12 - A Feminist Would Disagree

"I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. "

Any apologists here care to take a crack at this one?

Thanks!

Wrong again...There was no obligation for the woman TO LIVE WITH her rapist but since there was no welfare for social support for a raped woman who could never get married and might be pregnant...

the marriage forced him by law to provide for her welfare and any child. This was their system that used the force of law to make him support her.

Your scurrilous rendition of this method of family support does no one any justice. Is it because they are mere nomadic sheep herders that you scorn them so?
PCE Theology as I see it...

We had an existence with a free will in Sheol before the creation of the physical universe. Here we chose to be able to become holy or to be eternally evil in YHWH's sight. Then the physical universe was created and all sinners were sent to earth.

This theology debunks the need to base Christianity upon the blasphemy of creating us in Adam's sin.

To topic. If you believe this is wrong to believe, that men to have authority over women, and Christians have to play some kind of game to justify this. Do you think the biological make up of men vs women is a cover up? That because biology dictates men to be physically stronger, is that sexist too?

Biology doesn't dictate men to be physically stronger.

Some women are stronger than some men.

The question your post contains makes no sense.

Wait a minute. Without wanting to get into any argument that is claimed to be related, surely you would not deny that on average, men are larger and stronger than women? That is simply a fact is it not?

It is also true that horses are stronger than men, and elephants are stronger than horses. So what?

Men and women are fundamentally different in many ways besides their genitals. But in itself, so what?

The evolutionary pressures are different for males and females, leading inevitably to differences beyond the obvious physical difference in genitals. It's a fascinating subject, and one that I have studied and thought about.

Neither my reply nor the post I responded to addresses averages.

It is also true that horses are stronger than men, and elephants are stronger than horses. So what?
Good question. So what?

Men and women are fundamentally different in many ways besides their genitals. But in itself, so what?
And again, so what?

I have no idea what we are arguing about. Tart stated that biology dictates men to be physically stronger, and the only sensible interpretation is that men are physically stronger on average.

Apparently you disagreed with Tart on this point, and if that is the case then you are wrong.

Are we all in agreement that, on average, men are stronger than women?

In your opinion. Yes, we've established that that is your opinion many, many, many times. Thank you.
We have established it as FACT. Many times.
Right, we've established as FACT that this is your opinion. Many, many, many times. Thank you again.

Now this... I agree with.

That would be the charitable interpretation, but it's not the literal interpretation. Is that enough to make that the only sensible interpretation?

If Tart meant something other than what he said, he should have said that something he didn't say.

I addressed what he said, not your guess as to what he meant and yet didn't say.
