Rank System

Post by Baz »

I have some questions on the Rank system.

What are the ranks and in what order?

Are the rankings just levels reached by a certain number of posts?

Is the length of membership and continued use of the site considered?

I have two reasons for asking one general curiosity and the thought that others may also wish to know as the names given to the ranks infer different levels of subject knowledge.

The other is that there seems to be some newer members moving rapidly to higher ranks than some well-established ones who probably spend more of their time reading than writing and thus possibly deserve to remain ranked higher than exceedingly prolific newer members.

The ranks are described here. Ranks are just about the number of posts.

Dogmatism and skepticism are both, in a sense, absolute philosophies; one is certain of knowing, the other of not knowing. What philosophy should dissipate is certainty, whether of knowledge or ignorance.

The rank system should not be construed to have any indication of one's quality of posts. It is simply based on the number of posts and no more.
