So, where do babies go after they die? Heaven or hell?Corvus wrote: Does this mean children, who, early in their lives are basically amoral, will go to hell if they die? Will babies go to hell because of original sin?

Post #1Corvus asked a question in another thread which is an interesting question to debate:

Post #2I bealive Heaven because some where in the Bible (I'll look it up latter) it says something about we are inisent untill we are old enof to know and decide for ourselfs weather things are wrong or right. So, if the were a baby, oveously, they don't know wrong from right, so they would go to heaven.

I am given to understand the catholic belief is that they go to limbo. But then, there is another belief that Hell is the absence of God.. which would make limbo just like hell.

I agree with Angel. I believe the Qur'an says something about that too, but I'm not sure.

OK, I'm getting tired of all the rule violations and I'm going to start cracking down.worty wrote:It is so obvious that they go to heaven you fools.
Rule 1. No personal attacks are allowed.
Calling people "you fools" is a violation of rule 1. Consider yourself warned. Read the rules to see what happens if you break another rule.

Post #8If there's one thing I've learnt from reading Jack Chick tracts, it's that Jack Chick is absolutely insane. If there is another thing I've learnt from reading Jack Chick tracts, it's that, apparently, one does not enter heaven through doing good deeds and not doing bad ones. One enters heaven through grace, supposedly, and through acknowledging Jesus as saviour and repenting of sins.Angel wrote:And plus, why would God send a harmless thing to hell, a being who has done nothing rong.
Since we are born into sin (which I thought Jesus was supposed to get rid of for everyone), we are always destined to be sinful unless we appeal to Christ, and since young children cannot, they cannot be destined for heaven. This makes sense in absurd way when we consider the Christian and Jewish belief that we go every second of the day sinning somehow, and we are all nto worthy of God's love, but he gives it to us anyway.

I do not believe we are all born guilty however. Yes, we're all born with a predisposition to sin, but I believe we're innocent until proven guilty. Now, when can someone become guilty? My guess is when a child is actually capable of repenting for doing something wrong. And generally that's at least age 5.Since we are born into sin (which I thought Jesus was supposed to get rid of for everyone),
So, I don't believe babies go to hell.

Post #10I'm actually embarrassed to say I've read Jack Chick. It's a fact I am not proud of.otseng wrote:You certainly are well read.Corvus wrote: If there's one thing I've learnt from reading Jack Chick tracts, it's that Jack Chick is absolutely insane. And to repent, the child has to know that it is doing something wrong. It needs to be able to examine itself and find that it did something wrong. Which naturally brings us to ask, is ignorance of the law an excuse? If a child, or, for that matter, a man, is unrepentent because they are completely convinced nothing is wrong with casual cruelty and malice, will they go to heaven?I do not believe we are all born guilty however.
