|

Personally, I do not believe any human being has a spirit or a soul. Only metaphorically could I agree with it. I can agree that individuals produce either a positive or negative energy. And sometimes an individual may produce both. So as a matter of playing with words, I could consider that energy as a spirit, but it is leaving the boundaries of being literal. And when anyone concludes something, being literal is very beneficial. So that brings me back to neither the soul or spirit existing.
We are our brains. Everything about who and what we are comes from the functions within that mass of tissue. All our characteristics, our emotions, our physical actions, our perceptions, our conclusions, etc, etc...
all comes from the head.
Some people think they listen to their heart. But if they did, all they would hear is a 'beat, beat, beat, beat, beat.....' it doesn't talk. So that must only be a reference to them listening to their feelings. Feelings are emotional responses. They come from the brain.
So, does that mean the spirit/soul is housed in the brain?
What do you think?
Good day to you. |

I personally do not believe this. I believe the soul is spiritual, and as such resides in a spiritual realm independent of our physical existence. I may be proven wrong though, science seems to be ever reaching towards discovering the ties that bind. There is something there though, and I suppose it would be attached to our physical shell somehow. How is a good question.
For a quite a while, I had a hard time with the concept of a soul after I discovered how much of our actions are based on chemistry. However, some aspects of personality can't be answered from a purely naturalistic position. I am still searching for the line.
Either way I hope I have a soul, the concept of non-existence is hard for me to quantify. |
