The Stone

Daniel wrote in 2:34, “a stone (Jesus Christ) was cut out without hands, which smote the image (the four great empires of the world and ten smaller world powers) upon his feet that were of iron and clay and broke them to pieces.”

Isaiah 28:16, “Therefore thus said the Lord God, behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation:” The Lord was tried by the devil and by man.

Concerning Israel, Jesus has become a stone of stumbling on which the whole house of Israel has been broken but not destroyed.

The Pharisees were a religious group in ancient Judaism who were condemned for their hypocrisy and legalism. Their primary "sin" was their self-righteousness, hypocrisy, legalism, pride, arrogance, their opposition to Jesus, the burdening of people, and failure to recognize Jesus as their Messiah. The Pharisees' story is a warning for us today against religious pride and the danger of focusing on rules rather than a sincere relationship with the Lord.

Zechariah 12:3, “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut to pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”

The same stone that is to destroy the image is the foundation of the church. Ephesians 2:20, “Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone.”

Since May 14, 1948, Jerusalem has become a burdensome stone for all the people of the earth, especially the Islamic world, which seeks to destroy the Jews. The United Nations has turned its back on Israel, as have Russia, China, the North African nations, Europe, and certain so-called Christian organizations.

Matthew 21:44, “Whosoever shall fall on this stone (Jesus) shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.”

That is true.... Christ is the King of the 'church,' so he would be the leading entity that would destroy the great image of worldly governments. We are living in the time of the destruction of the feet made of clay and iron. It will happen soon.
