The fight for the souls of our Youth.

I was listening to a Xian podcast (Apologetics.com):
Youth & Culture: Introducing Them To Abundant Living

Author: Harry Edwards, Jeremy Livermore, Sara Roberts Author: &Author: Sam Welbaum
Mon, Jul 26, 2010

A recent Barna survey reported that the younger generation today was more than twice as likely as all other adults to engage in behaviors considered morally inappropriate by traditional standards. For example, two-thirds of the under 25 year old segment (65%) of the population had used profanity in public, compared to just one out of five Boomers (19%). The younger group, known as Mosaics, was nine times more likely than were Boomers to have engaged in sex outside of marriage (38% vs. 4%), six times more likely to have lied (37% vs. 6%), almost three times more likely to have gotten drunk (25% vs. 9%) and to have gossiped (26% vs. 10%), and twice as likely as Boomers to have observed pornography (33% vs. 16%) and to have engaged in acts of retaliation (12% vs. 5%).

Without question, our young people today face enormous challenges as it redefines what it means to do the right thing in their own lives. Unfortunately it appears these challenges are met with little resistance. Listen as we explore some of the causes of moral decline among the youth and discuss practical ways to overcome them. Hosting the show is Harry Edwards with special guests Sara Roberts, Sam Welbaum and Jeremy Livermore.

I can't type fast enough to tell you how amazed I was at how out-of-touch Xianity and evangelic Xians are with respect to the modern age and youth in general.

There is such a rift that I can see why the Youth are running from Xianity.

For one, they were technophobes and talked about the amazing technology kids use today with disdain - wow, way to endear yourself to the Renaissance Fair group! I'm sure they make up a huge segment of the population!

But the worst part was how they talked about the youth being immoral (all the time ignoring they are basing their idea of morality on 2000 year old social mores that included some really ugly ideas: homophobia, etc.

Then they railed on the youth for being egotistical and narssistic. to the point that one youth leader took a poll of her kids and they scored a 19 on a narsisitc scale, when the average is 15.

She said this showed how vain kids were and how they need to be brought down a peg! The whole tenor was "these kids don't know whats good for them - feeling good about themselves is bad - they need to humble themselves before the archaic and incomprehensible rules of Jesus...."

At first I thought, oh, these people want to help lessen drug use and teen-pregnancy, but it simply switched into "They don't follow Jesus properly, they don't want to, they are vain, they have all that high-falootin technology".

Xianity does this: it tells you over and over again that you are wretched, but then when they are about to lose you, they say - oh, but in God's eye you are special.

They don't think that telling someone the Creator of the Universe is interested in them would increase their good feelings about themselves! In fact, isn't that what they claim: that when they found Jesus they felt good about themselves?

But then they have a person responsble for bringing up kids this is bad?!?!?!? That is horrible.

I'm still listening to it and it is starting to make me sick.. There are so many stupid Xians that feel they are capable of talking to kids and forming their minds and then they rail on kids?

One guy said, "Oh, yeah, and there's that AD, uh, Attention, uh disorder.."

DUDE! if you don't even know what it is called STFU and don't talk about it!

I'm sick of these morons who don't know a damn thing other than the standard company line of Xian manipulation and think they are qualified to lead children.

It's very disturbing.

I am going to finish listening to this and hope that I understand their sick methods better so I can help destroy this horrible manipulation - of children no less!

To listen to them talk about their method of attracting kids to the church is grotesque.

Anyhow, has anyone else heard this kid of slop from the Xian youth group leaders?

"Holy F***in C**p and @#$%^*R!!!", yelled a fatheaded old naked boomer smoking weed while watching absolutely gorgeous Japanese porn, "I didn't know that!"

Buh, kids these days, thinkin they can compete with grandma and grandpa in depravity. Don't they know we invented sex back in the sixties???

Two messiahs from Genesis to Revelations

Post by Platypus »

Two Messiahs from Genesis to Revelations.
Day of Atonement – The sacrificial lamb representing Jesus Christ the absolute deliverer of Forgiveness of sins and the advent of Grace.

The sending of a lamb into the wilderness, represents the second messiah.
1. Leviticus 16:10
But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the Lord, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.
For there to be a completeness in the law there shall be two messiahs as spoken by Zechariah
1. Zechariah 4:14
Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.
One being Jesus Christ, the second being the Father of Jesus Christ.
For these Three are one, The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.
Jesus came as a man so will the Father come as a man, being the Second Messiah.
A High Priest, High king as foretold in revelations
Revelation 17:14
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
The Jews were expecting a messiah King in the form of Jesus Christ, not knowing that Jesus is the king of the Jews, but he is not the King of kings.
Jesus came to lead the way to the Father, as the Father is the one who sits on the throne of God in revelations.
1. Revelation 20:4
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
1. Revelation 20:11
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
1. Revelation 7:9
After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

The throne represents the Father, and the Lamb represents Jesus Christ.

Matthew 21:33-39
King James Version (KJV)
33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:
34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.
37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.

God being the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost sent his son Lord Jesus Christ, and what they did to him was kill him, as was foretold in the parable of the Vineyard. However, the Father the second messiah comes at the end of time to avenge the death of his son.
ARMAGEDDON
1. Revelation 16:16
And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
Read Psalm 72
Psalm 72
King James Version (KJV)
72 Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.
2 He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.
3 The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.
4 He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.
5 They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.
6 He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.
7 In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.
8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
9 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.
10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
11 Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.
12 For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.
13 He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.
14 He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.
15 And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.
16 There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
17 His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
18 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.
19 And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.
20 The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.
King David prophesised of the coming second messiah.

Read Psalms 45 It also prophesises the coming of the Second Messiah
Psalm 45
King James Version (KJV)
45 My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
2 Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.
3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.
4 And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.
5 Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.
6 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
8 All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.
9 Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.
10 Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;
11 So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.
12 And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.
13 The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.
14 She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.
15 With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace.
16 Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.
17 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.
ISAIAH
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Isaiah 42
King James Version (KJV)
42 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
5 Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
10 Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
11 Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
12 Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.
13 The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.
14 I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.
15 I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.
16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.
17 They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.
18 Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see.
19 Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD's servant?
20 Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not.
21 The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.
22 But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.
23 Who among you will give ear to this? who will hearken and hear for the time to come?
24 Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the LORD, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his law.
25 Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.
Isaiah 53
King James Version (KJV)
53 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Zechariah 14
King James Version (KJV)
14 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

Apart from being totally off topic, your interpretation of the Bible verses you quoted is incorrect.

The context of all pertinent scripture is that Jesus of Nazareth, also called the Christ and the One who was crucified WILL RETURN in bodily physical form.

"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, that where I am you may be also." John 14:3

The above is a quote from Jesus promising that He would come again. I could quote a lot more verses, but the volume wouldn't change the context. Jesus said he'd come again.

All the scriptures you quoted refer to Jesus' second coming. That is the Christian interpretation of the Bible.

I just have one question.

If Christian interpretation is that Jesus would return, then what religious point of view do you represent?

It certainly isn't Christian. I'm just asking.

but that's just me, hollering from the choir loft...

They also said Elijah would return, and he did but he came as John the Baptist.

I also believe in the blood of Jesus Christ and that he came in the flesh and he will also return to rule for the thousand year reign.

However I also believe in the second messiah. I believe the Holy spirit has given me a revelation. That when Jesus states he will return he is speaking also of his father who will avenge his death at the hands of the enemy being Satan.
For the Father and the son and the Holy spirit are one and there kingdom one.

You need to be wary of 'revelations' that do not coincide with the intent or context of scripture. Personal cogitations, theories and spiritual touches are not true if they disagree with the Bible.

Jesus warned His disciples saying many false messiahs would come, but the end would not yet be revealed.*

Many have been led astray or have wandered from the faith by these pseudo revelations. The Holy Spirit will never inspire anything that is contrary to the intent of scripture. This is why a detailed study of the interpretations of persons with valued opinions is necessary. And not one person only. When a group of scholars agree on a point one can be confident that something approaching truth has been stated.

Go back and read the gospel accounts of Jesus' life. Jesus never contradicted the scripture or the interpretations of the scholars of His day. The problem then as now is the application of truth, not simply the recitation of it. Jesus IS the truth and that's what got him in trouble with the religious authorities. In fact, He often pointed to the truth so effectively that no one could dispute He was saying it straight.

Today many people confuse subjective opinion with objective fact. An opinion or a revelation means nothing unless it is backed up by something more substantial than one man's statement. This is especially true with spiritual matters. Too many beer stein philosophers think they've got a handle on truth when all they've really got is a head full of suds.

BTW the person who identified John the Baptist as Elijah was Jesus Christ Himself - certainly an authority as to who was to precede His own ministry.

and that's just me, hollering from the choir loft…

(*) A major religious group has predicted the coming of a second messiah. They have named this person Isa and have stated that he will make war upon Jesus Christ and His disciples. Are you a member of this group?

Jesus also said beware of the Pharisees and sadducees, the religious leaders of his day. For they knew that Jesus was the messiah, but did not want to rock the boat as to say.

Just because a certain interpretation of the Bible has become the dominant teaching doesn't mean it is correct.

There are many teachings from the church that are incorrect, for example Good Friday and Christmas.

If you choose to follow the church rather than Jesus Christ that is your choice.

As for you question, only a fool or as you say a follower of a false messiah would make war with Yahweh and his son the Lord Jesus Christ. And no I do not belong to such a group, I stopped going to church a long time ago when everything became about paying tithes and prospering for Jesus.

So you're claiming that the Jewish Priests knew that Jesus was their messiah and had him crucified anyway? :-k

This has to be the most absurd claim I have ever heard in my entire life.

I mean, granted, Christianity is an absurd religion to begin with in any case, but this really takes the cake.

Just because a certain interpretation of the Bible has become the dominant teaching doesn't necessarily mean it is incorrect either.

I'm not accusing you of anything here, just raising a yellow caution flag. It is wise to be wary of revelations either personal or from the group. One must consider with great care the ideas that have eternal and spiritual significance. Such ideas go to the root of what we are and can affect one's behavior for a long time before the consequences of error or truth become obvious.

I cannot argue your points about church teaching that I also believe to be untrue. Tithing would be one of them, unfortunately. You and I seem to agree on that rather sticky point. One will get the church franchises to accept theological heresy before the doctrine of the tithe is abandoned.

I asked about a second messiah group because I am aware of one that teaches exactly the things you are proposing. They are called Muslims and believe in a second messiah the Qur'an calls Isa. The character Isa is Mohammads' version of Jesus Christ - with a twist. The Islamic Jesus/Isa is not the Son of God and did not die on the cross. Both Islamic and Christian eschatology states that Jesus would return in the last days. Jews look for the coming of the messiah. Christians look for the return of the messiah and Muslims look for a second messiah. Isa/Jesus will also accompany a unifying figure called Mohammed al-Mahdi.* These characters match exactly the definition of Beast & beast's prophet mentioned in Revelation. That's why I asked you about your second messiah. One is coming. He just isn't the character we all think he'll be and he won't represent the spiritual standard we think he'll stand for. He will be Muslim.

As for making war with YHWH, the war is foretold in both Islamic and Christian tradition and text.

Exactly when is making war NOT foolish? There are times to be sure, but these days the difference has been considerably muddied. The US government is one of those entities that has poisoned the souls of our youth so as to support and participate in its murderous campaigns far from our shores. One does not defend one's country by invading the lands of those who have not raised their hand against us.

"You talk about a man killing his own people. When you lie to the American people saying that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. When you lie and then take innocent young men who come to serve their country, and send them to die in Iraq and Afghanistan, over lies, that's a murderer in the White House (Obama)."
- Minister Louis Farrakhan

The above quote was issued by a man not popular with the majority of Americans, yet his words ring true enough. The souls of American youth are being poisoned and the worst of the lies, the most destructive to our society, do not come from the houses of religion. They come from our political, financial and corporate leaders none of whom consider actions best for America as a whole.

and that's just me, hollering from the choir loft…

(*) I'm not clear on the Muslim mind here. Because there are so many factions and differences within Islam itself, I doubt that Muslims themselves have a clear definition as to the office and purpose al-Mahdi may hold. A clue, perhaps may be discerned from the history of the Crusades. In that time a great unifying leader called Saladin arose. The caliph unified the Muslim world sufficiently to cleanse the Levant of organized Christian presence. If any idea or standard for leadership exists in the Muslim world that is common to a cause of cleansing the Levant once again that pattern or person or template would be Saladin. Al-Mahdi, therefore, would be a type of Saladin to my way of thinking. The Bible seems to concur on this point and has led me in my assumptions.

The Jewish religious leaders knew Jesus was the promised messiah because only a messiah could perform 3 distinct miracles. Healing of a man born blind, raising from the Dead ie Lazarus, and the healing of a leprous man. Whereby, when Jesus performed each of these miracles he would instruct them to present themselves before the religious leaders for testimony.

Why they rejected him was for reason being they were expecting a messiah warrior, someone who would restore the throne of David and deliver them from Roman rule.

Jesus spoke with parables and one particular parable is of the vineyard being leased to others whereby the son is sent to collect the payment, for which he is killed.

As for making war, God himself is a man of war, read the old testament. There has been a war since Lucifer rebelled against Gods authority and tried to setup his own kingdom. Read Revelations and Isaiah.

As for Muslims and what they believe, I have never read the Koran, I do not belong to any Muslim sect nor am I an expert on Islam.

The Jewish state was under Roman rule, the Roman army was the most advanced and feared of its day. Many so called Messiahs had come and gone. Here comes along Jesus who was advocating loving thy enemy, and preaching many things that did not support the religious leaders expectations. Many people wanted to make him the king especially when he could feed 5000 with a couple of loaves of bread and a few fish.

However, Jesus Christ had a greater mission than overthrowing the Roman empire and restoring the Jewish state, his was the forgiveness of sins and the redemption of man to God.

There is a war going on for the light and what is good against the darkness and what is evil. Both use words as weapons. Evil and its principalities condemned to death an innocent man who had no sin. This has placed them at a disadvantage for upon doing so they are convicted. It is not about who has the most advanced armies rather it is about who is able to keep the word. For words of truth will set you free and lies and deceit will bind you and lead you into captivity.
