If you count the number of foreign wars that the Pentagon has gotten us involved in, most people tally 3.

That's Iraq, Afghanistan and the Libyan war of .... whatever. I don't even think they've got an operational name for this last one. You know, like Desert Storm or Operation Libya or Operation BombRun. I'm sure somebody knows.

Nobody counts the recent bombing of Yemen as a war, despite the fact that American bombs were dropped. So I won't count that as a war either.

#4 is the bombing of Somalia this past winter and spring. A number of sorties were flown against targets in that country and nobody knew about it. The Pentagon very successfully suppressed any news of that aggression. It is unclear at this point whether or not the bombing has continued or whether a landing there is planned. The US Navy was certainly ready for it with Marines and landing craft standing by. Motivations for that series of attacks is unclear as the whole event is shrouded in secrecy.
