KOREAN WAR - ver 2.0 ?

As I write there is a great deal of deadly posturing being exhibited on the part of North Korea. What is happening on the Korean peninsula and the motivations for it seem to make no sense. No sense if one looks only at that area of the globe. But all things on earth are connected these days and no man or nation is an island apart from all the rest.

North Korea is a client state of China and the Russian bear. As it was in the 1950's so it remains to this day. In truth, NK can't take a dump without permission from the Asian giants that ultimately determine its fate. But why would our old adversaries want a war?

Syria is also a client state of Russia. The middle east nation is allied with Iran which in turn has serious and profitable trade ties with China. For nearly two years now, western nations at the behest of Saudi Arabia, Qatar & Turkey have been trying to unseat the Assad government.

There are three levels or methods by which the US removes a sitting government from power. First we sent in our economic hit men and tried to starve Assad into submission. That didn't work. Second we've sent in our jackals in the form of rebel groups. That doesn't seem to be working out too well either. The third option is direct military intervention as in Iraq and Afghanistan. Not likely at this point in time.

Not likely because Russia has its only foreign naval base in Syria. Not likely because Russia views a strong western political presence in Syria as a threat. Not likely because Russia stands to lose a great deal of investment in Syrian infrastructure and political ties. How then can the west 'persuade' Russia to relent and let Assad fall?

Move west a few miles to Cyprus where there is presently an economic disaster in progress. An economic disaster that has been manipulated by the United States. Why?

Slightly more than one third of the capital in Cypriot banks is Russian money. Russian corporations park their assets there because of Cypriot tax advantages. With Cypriot banks closed Russian businesses cannot operate at home or abroad. In recent days the Cypriot government has applied for a loan from the world bank (owned and operated by the USA). The loan was initially approved, but has been blocked by Turkey. Additionally, Turkey has severed its ties with Russian off shore oil drilling companies and a co-op pipeline, which would have been very lucrative for Russia.

In other words, the US and Turkey are putting an economic stranglehold on Russia to pressure Moscow into releasing Syria into western governance. American economic hitmen are making the northern bear squirm.

Is it a mystery then that Russia and China should react by creating a crisis in Korea? The whole thing is a gigantic chess game with the lives of countless millions in the balance.

What will happen next?
I suggest that the reader watch Russia & China closely with a special eye on events in Cyprus and SYRIA.
It's really all about Syria.

The problem with all this political one up manship is that we're getting very close to somebody pulling a trigger.
Once a bullet leaves a gun, one cannot push it back in again.

MOSCOW (Reuters)
President Vladimir Putin ordered the launch of large-scale military exercises in the Black Sea on Thursday, projecting Russian power towards Europe and the Middle East in a move that may vex its neighbors.

The situation grows more tense, but it is not being defined in the mountains of the Korean peninsula - yet. Today its being fought in the banks of Cyprus and the motivation is the fate of Syria.

As of today March 29, several flights of heavy US bombers have been made over S. Korea, a treaty of defense has been reaffirmed as of last week between America and the small country.....

and the restrictions of bank assets in Cyprus have been partially lifted.

All things are connected and the chess game over the political authority in Syria goes on.....

but that's just me, hollering from the choir loft...
