I thought this was cool and wanted to share it with you guys. It's a bold move, in my opinion.

I'd first want to know what is good, why is it objective or worth more than anyone's opinion, and who would be authorized to judge such, if not God.

For a definition of good, I would consult a dictionary. I don't think there is an objective good and I don't see a problem with it being subjective. I think human beings with rational minds are not just "authorized" to judge what is good, but are the only beings that actually can.
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.--Carl Sagan

We are valuing creature that not only create value but recognize it.
It is something we experience and learn.
Even the Hebrew myth of the Garden saw the tree of knowledge of good and evil as something experienced. Like the gods we value and experience good and evil.
