Christian Music

Hello all :)

I have started threads like this on other forums and they have been very popular.

What we do is find our favourite songs with Christian meaning and share them with others. It works well when we share the Lyrics along with the music.

So to start it off i would like to post a song from my current favourite stealth Christian band Linkin Park with their song, What I've Done

Linkin Park with What I've Done
Lyrics:
In this farewell
There's no blood
There's no alibi
Cause I've drawn regret
From the truth
Of a thousand lies

So let mercy come
And wash away

What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done

Put to rest
What you thought of me
While I clean this slate
With the hands
Of uncertainty

So let mercy come
And wash away

What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done

For what I've done

I'll start again
And whatever pain may come
Today this ends
I'm forgiving what I've done

I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done

What I've done

Forgiving what I've done

I love that song.

I don't know if they are a Christian band, per se, however.

Still, that's one of my favorite songs. I like alternative rock of that type. :)

Here's another one of my favs:

Woot! Great thread and great taste in music, but does Linkin Park really qualify as a "Christian Band?". My favorite Christian Band is Casting Crowns, my favorite song by them is:

As for other musical choices, they would include some All American Rejects, a lil bit of Neon Trees, alot of Red Hot Chili Peppers, and maybe even a tiny bit of Katy Perry and Tchaikovsky :-s

Well note, that’s why i called them a Stealth Christian band. I would say 99% of their fans would not see them as a Christian band either. But that’s the beauty of them they plant the seed of the message so well with such professionalism and they receive more support by the media because they are not seen as Christian. That’s why they produce such polished videos.

Here is another song from them from their latest album. Actually this song is So clearly Christian i think they are in danger of blowing there cover. Any Christian with a basic prophetic understanding will see the messages in this next video. LOL they even start the song with organ music, talk about in your face Christian.

Linkin Park with Catalyst

God bless us every one
We're a broken people living under loaded gun
And it can't be outfought
It can't be outdone
It can't be outmatched
It can't be outrun
No!
Repeat x2

And when I close my eyes tonight
To symphonies of blinding light
God bless us everyone
We're a broken people living under loaded gun
Ooh!
Like memories in cold decay
Transmissions echoing away
Far from the world of you and I
Where oceans bleed into the sky

God save us every one
Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns
For the sins of our hands
The sins of our tongues
The sins of our fathers
The sins of our young
No!
Repeat 2x

And when I close my eyes tonight
To symphonies of blinding light
God save us everyone
Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns
Ooh!
Like memories in cold decay
Transmissions echoing away
Far from the world of you and I
Where oceans bleed into the sky

Ooh!
Like memories in cold decay
Transmissions echoing away
Far from the world of you and I
Where oceans bleed into the sky

Lift me up, let me go
Repeat 5x(10x)

God bless us every one
We're a broken people living under loaded gun
And it can't be outfought
It can't be outdone
It can't be outmatched
It can't be outrun
Repeat 3x

Adstar may have a point, but then again maybe not. Good music is good, and people have similar emotions, desires, and tastes whether they are indeed Christian or otherwise. I believe some in Linkin Park are Christian, but I'm not certain.

I also like other bands, Evanescence is one of my favorites, and I like it because of it's Christian undertones / because of the type of music.

This one she sings with Seether is really good

I also like this song by 30 Seconds to Mars. The song doesn't start until 1:11.

Shinedown is also one of my favorite bands:

And I absolutely love their version of "Simple Man," originally by Lynyrd Skynyrd:

I liked that 30 seconds to Mars clip. They are definitely a Stealth Christian band. Did you see the Large White Cross in down in the city? It appeared just when the bike rider was struck and killed by the car. And did you see the white horse. It represents the white horse Jesus will be riding upon his second coming when the saints will be raised from the dead. Just like the guy who was hit by the car.

I bet there is more hidden imagery in that song that i did not see.

I liked that version of "Simple Man" also. Seems from listening to your videos your into music strong in vocals and very similar type of vocals too, similar kinds of singers.

Ok here are two more songs from Linkin Park both with End times themes.

Linkin Park with Waiting for the End

This is not the end
This is not the beginning,
Just a voice like a riot
Rocking every revision
But you listen to the tone
And the violet rhythm
Though the words sound steady
Something empty's within 'em

We say Yeah!
With fists flying up in the air
Like we're holding onto something
Thats invisible there,
Cuz we're living at the mercy of
The pain and the fear
Until we dead it, Forget it,
Let it all dissapear.

Waiting for the end to come
Wishing I had strength to stand
This is not what I had planned
It's out of my control....

Flying at the speed of light
Thoughts we're spinning in my head
So many things were left unsaid
It's hard to let you go...

(Oh!) I know what it takes to move on,
I know how it feels to lie,
All I wanna do
Is trade this life for something new
Holding on to what I haven't got

Sitting in an empty room
Trying to forget the past
This was never meant to last,
I wish it wasn't so...

(Oh!) I know what it takes to move on,

I know how it feels to lie,
All I wanna do
Is trade this life for something new
Holding on to what I haven't got

What was left when that fire was gone?
I thought it felt right but that right was wrong
All caught up in the eye of the storm
And trying to figure out what it's like moving on
And i don't even know what kind of things I've said
My mouth kept moving and my mind went dead
So, picking up the pieces, now where to begin?
The hardest part of ending Is starting again!!

All I wanna do
Is trade this life for something new
Holding on to what i haven't got...

This is not the end
This is not the beginning,
Just a voice like a riot
Rocking every revision
But you listen to the tone
And the violet rhythm
Though the words sound steady
Something empty's within 'em
(Holding on to what i haven't got)

We say Yeah!
With fists flying up in the air
Like we're holding onto something
Thats invisible there,
Coz we're living at the mercy of
The pain and th fear
Until we dead it, Forget it,
Let it all dissapear
(Holding on to what i haven't got!)

This next Song video is only a Lyrics video i don't think Linkin Park has made a Video for this song. This is a very haunting and powerful song.

Linkin Park with Iridencent

When you were standing in the wake of devastation
when you were waiting on the edge of the unknown
with the cataclysm raining down, insides crying save me now
you were there and possibly alone.

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation
you build up hope, but failure's all you've known
remember all the sadness and frustration
and let it go, let it go.

And in the burst of light that blinded every angel
as if the sky had blown the heavens into stars
you felt the gravity of temper grace falling into empty space
no one there to catch you in their arms

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation
you build up hope, but failure's all you've known
remember all the sadness and frustration
and let it go, let it go.

(Multiple Voices)
Do you feel cold and lost in desperation
you build up hope, but failure's all you've known
remember all the sadness and frustration
and let it go,

let it go
let it go
let it go
let it go

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation
you build up hope, but failure's all you've known
remember all the sadness and frustration
and let it go, let it go.

Hello again :)

You might be getting sick of Linkin Park to i will throw in something different.

This song is about sharing the faith with others in the end times.

Lighthouse Family with I Wish

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fjyV6IBX-Q

I wish I knew how it would feel to be free
I wish I could break all the chains holding me
I wish I could say all the things that I should say
Say 'em loud say 'em clear
For the whole wide world to hear

I wish I could share
All the love that's in my heart
Remove all the bars that keep us apart
And I wish you could know how feels to be me
Then you'd see and agree that every man should be free

I wish I could be like a bird in the sky
How sweet it would be if I found I could fly
Well I'd soar to the sun and look down at the sea
And I'd sing cos I know how it feels to be free

I wish I knew how it would feel to be free
I wish I could break all the chains holding me
And I wish I could say all the things that I wanna say
Say 'em loud say 'em clear
For the whole wide world to hear
Say 'em loud say 'em clear
For the whole wide world to hear
Say 'em loud say 'em clear
For the whole wide world to hear

One love one blood
One life you've got to do what you should
One life with each other
Sisters, brothers

One love but we're not the same
We got to carry each other Carry each other
One One One One One...

I wish I knew how it would feel to be free
I wish I knew how it would feel to be free.

Next One is probably my favourite from this band. This song sings about the Hope and assurance of eternity with God while suffering under the oppressors of this world. I just love this mans voice, so calm, at peace.

Lighthouse Family with High

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fm0eqPJwQDo

When you're close to tears remember
Someday it'll all be over
One day we're gonna get so high
Though it's darker than December
What's ahead is a different colour
One day we're gonna get so high

And at the end of the day remember the days
When we were close to the end
And wonder how we made it through the night
At the end of the day
Remember the way
We stayed so close to the end
We'll remember it was me and you

Cause we are gonna be
Forever, you and me
You will
Always keep it flying high in the sky
Of love

Don't you think it's time you started
Doing what we always wanted
One day we're gonna get so high
Cause even the impossible
Is easy when we got each other
One day we're gonna get so high

And at the end of the day remember the days
When we were close to the end
And wonder how we made it through the night
At the end of the day
Remember the way
We stayed so close to the end
We'll remember it was me and you

Cause we are gonna be
Forever, you and me
You will
Always keep it flying high in the sky
Of love

Cause we are gonna be
Forever, you and me
You will
Always keep it flying high in the sky
Of love

And at the end of the day remember the days
When we were close to the end
And wonder how we made it through the night
At the end of the day
Remember the way
We stayed so close to the end
We'll remember it was me and you

Cause we are gonna be
Forever, you and me
You will
Always keep it flying high in the sky
Of love
