My thoughts: Suppose you didn't have to work. All the money you would need for one day, was just dropped into your lap. Sometimes, it was just enough to see you through, and other times there was an over abundance so that you could get something extra. As silly as this seems, I think it is exactly what we do to God! We go about our business waiting for Him to drop His presence into our lap. Much like working to earn money, we must seek God with purpose, prayer, and steadfast determination. When we do, He reveals Himself in extraordinary ways. Sometimes, he gives us just what we need to make it through the day, and other times the abundance is overflowing so that it seeps into the lives of others.
Do you seek His presence, or do you think it is freely given?
Do we have to do something?

Yes, faith without works is dead, God expects people to work in harmony with their desire to know him better.

Those who are called to HIS purpose cannot avoid HIM as the discipline of suffering tells us about all HIS legitimate children being chastised, Heb 12:5-11 for their failures of righteousness. No one is free of this in their lives or they are not HIS children. The problem is not not being close enough HIM but to survive this discipline the best way by taking the high road of repentance and eschewing the low road of stubborn defiance.

PCE Theology as I see it...
We had an existence with a free will in Sheol before the creation of the physical universe. Here we chose to be able to become holy or to be eternally evil in YHWH's sight. Then the physical universe was created and all sinners were sent to earth.
This theology debunks the need to base Christianity upon the blasphemy of creating us in Adam's sin.

I agree one cannot escape God's judgements. He sees all and is ready at a moment's notice to help His people.
