Jehovah's Witnesses have very high moral standards.

None of their ministers can live with a member of the opposite sex (who is not a relative) in a romantic/sexual relationship without the benefit of marriage.

Do you think their standards are to high in our modern age were people living together without being married is common?

Those are normative Christian standards and are not too high. Those morals, values and standards are also shared by the RCC, Evangelicals and Orthodox and are not exclusive to JWs.

Muslims, Orthodox Jews and Mormons too, share those values.

It is certainly commendable that JWs share those values and live them.
My theological positions:

-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.

I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

I don't know about the Muslim community, but I know a lot of practising Christians that pubically live with their partner without the benefit of marriage and are also practising members of their churches. To my knowledge only Mormons (and perhaps some smaller groups like the Armish) expect members to uphold the standard of not "living together" before marriage.

Those things you have heard do not represent the teachings of say, the RCC and other Christian Churches. Nor Orthodox Judaism or Islam.

Those were only professing people who were doing what they want, ignoring their Churches teachings.

I have heard stories of Roman Catholic couples who were living together, and went to the Church to plan a marriage. Sometimes the Priest in question told one of them to move out, and they could only come back together when they were commited to each other in God's eyes in the holy state of matrimony.

It is not only JWs and Mormons who preach high standards. There are others.

Just remember that the ones Jesus found hardest to reach are the ones with a high moral standard. Blessed are the poor in spirit.

Those that unrepentedly "ignore 'church' teachings" are disfellowshipped from amongst us. I have never heard of anyone in my community being disfellowshipped or shunned from any other church. Living together is extremely common.

Here is the problem that I see. We only know what people tell us, and some don't say much. People could be living together, but no one could be the wiser. People could also be married but addicted to porn, cheating on their spouse, abusing there children, lying, stealing, cheating, a drunkard, addicted to drugs, unforgiving, and a whole host of other things. When we start disqualifying people to be members of our church based on their sin, we become nothing more than an elite club. No one I know is going to openly admit their sin. We are an imperfect people serving a perfect God. Like Wootah said, the Pharisees thought they were the elite Godly people, but Jesus showed them otherwise.

I am so passionate about this issue, because I think we as Christians with our rules and regulations, make it impossible sometimes for people to know God.

Of course people can be hiding secret sins, but does that mean we should tolerate those that don't? If sex outside of marriage is unacceptable for christians then should we say that its okay because some will try and hide it?

It is difficult to hide living with someone else, so that at least can be judged. Those that commit fornication or adultery in secret are in my experience eventually exposed and those that are not must eventually face God's judgement. But does this mean that we must tolerate any behavior within the Christian congregation? If fornication, why not adultery? If fornication and adultery why not pedophilia?

My problem with this all inclusive attitude is that it goes against the express and explicit standards in scripture for the Christian congregation.
