Religious freedom

Post by Youkilledkenny »

A woman who belongs to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is allowed to wear a pasta strainer on her head in her driver's license photo due to religious beliefs, the AP reports.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nati ... /75862946/
A Portland man finally has his driver's license after a nine-month appeal for a religious exemption. The man, who goes by Bishop, wanted to wear a fox hat in order to honor his spirit animal.

At what point does a society (or should a society) stop allowing religious freedom and start using common sense?
Have we reached this point yet? Or does it need to get worse before we stand up and use common sense in many attributes of society.

"All these laws allow Christians to be bigots and racists. What would you call a law that allows someone to discriminate against gays?"

I can't read whole articles, which laws exactly concern you?

I don't know the exact wording of 'discriminate against gays' as anything can be seen as discrimination.
Christians, Christian religion, is being discriminated against all the time; it is form of entertainment.
Sorry you don't have the capability to read much.

These laws allow Christians to discriminate against gays, other religions, atheists, etc.

Tell me exactly what laws discriminate against Christians?
Please quote the exact wording of the laws you are talking about.

I posted the links to the laws that Christians want to enable them to discriminate and be bigots like they want too,

You said there are laws against Christians and I asked you to give these laws that are against Christians. Note don't give me laws that apply to everyone and as a Christian you don't think they should apply . I want the laws that are specially against Christians. Or, are you defending your belief by making up lies?

I used the word 'discrimination' and not 'law'.

Tell me exactly how Christians are discriminated against. Christians want to say they are 95% plus in the USA.

So. list all these ways that Christians are discriminated against?

You cannot go the church?
Atheists stop you from praying to your god?
Someone forcing Christians to have abortions?
They are forced to pay taxes on there places of worship while other people pay taxes on property?
You feel that you should not pay taxes to support woman's health?
You are not allowed to discriminate on a rental because of religious beliefs?
You are not to discriminate on business services whenever you like?

Lets see your list and make sure that it only applies to Christians.

Second, we are disusing laws that allow Christians to be bigots and racists. Why do feel that is OK? Because your god is a bigot and racist? Your religion teaches you to hate and discriminated against a group of people?

From cutting off heads to burning Christians in kilns to many atrocities in non-Christian countries can be somehow understood. But similar hateful things are happening in our western countries. let's not forget the filth in videos and in the writings of the hateful.
Sorry copy/paste picture does not work therefore links.

Could you please let me know when non Christians burned Christians in the USA. We are talking about the here and now, not something like Christians killing 50,000 woman because they thought were not Christians.

What about the Christian god killing babies by drowning them? Was that god being a bigot?

You showed two examples of free speech. How is that discrimination?

Tell me when Christians picket and have signs against abortion is that discrimination against woman?

You failed to respond to why you fell you need laws to be a bigot? This topic is about laws being passed that allows Christians to discriminate and be bigots and racists.

I asked you if you think these laws that allow for Christians to discriminate against says gays are OK with you. Should only Christians be allowed to be bigots, or should we have laws that allows everyone to discriminate against anyone because of their belifs?

You make too many accusations without facts.
You want the world to agree and condone; it's not going to
happen regardless the accusations of bigotry etc.

And you fail to respond to questions about how Christians are discriminated against.

From what you did respond you most likely feel that free speech against your religion should be punished.

Again, tell me why you think it is either OK and bad that Christians want laws that allow them to be bigots. Do you have a response or you just like to voice your opinion on other things versus what the topic is.

Tell me what I should provide a fact about?

That Christin's killed 50,000 woman for non belief? http://www.religioustolerance.org/wic_burn2.htm
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witch_tri ... ern_period

The vengeful killer god killed babies by drowning? Read the bible about Noah.

So tell me exactly what facts you want.

You make comments about me that I want the world to agree and condone. Exactly what do I want the world to agree and condone?

I asked if people agree Christians should have laws that allow them to be bigots like the one that the Georgia governor vetoed but several other states have similar laws.

So, you also oppose free speech! Would you also like laws banning anti-christian signs? How about punishment for anyone denying the deity of your messiah? Death sentence perhaps? --Amerikkkan Taliban-- --Amerikkkan ISIS-- Is that what your position is at?

The exercise of our first amendment right of free speech is NOT SIMILAR in any way to the atrocities you site, even though those atrocities are done in the name of your god --the god of Abraham, Isaac (Yes, cousin Isaac), and Jacob.

The comparison is not even close. The very fact that you see them as similar says a lot about your religion, and the philosophy of all radical religionists, like al-Qaeda! It's becoming clear who the enemy within is.

I don't understand why these things bother you. The limits of freedom always end when they infringe on another's freedom. Otherwise their is no limit. "Common sense" or at least your version of common sense, cannot possibly be looked at as more valuable than a basic right, in my opinion.

For me it is simple: If a woman wants to wear a pasta strainer on her head in a picture, why should I care?
