Even former President Obama and Bill Clinton campaign advisor James Carville are critical of today's Democrat party. Obama warning against the "cancel culture" of the Left, and Carville expressing dismay at such notions as Democrat advocacy for voting rights for felons still in prison, (or is that just Bernie who wants that?) and Dems "no borders" policies.
For debate, are Carville and Obama "out of touch" and on the wrong side of history? Or do they represent a vestigial voice of sanity that survives among some Democrats.
Have the Democrats gone way too far Left?

Today's Left wing Democrat party.
Post #1 My theological positions:
-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.
I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

You said,
I can't agree with that! They have continually migrated to the radical left especially in the last 15 years. So far to the left they are over the edge! The Democrats will do just about anything to get back into power.Democrats are no further "left" today than they were under FDR. By contrast, the Republican party today often makes Senator Joe McCarthy look like a liberal.
The Democrats are to the right of the British Conservative party and are more conservative than the Republicans were in the 1970s.
As for getting into power, the Republicans today suppress votes especially in the south and that is a form of tyranny. Closing down voting facilities, discarding ballots, gerrymandering are all forms of voter suppression. That is not democratic or just - it is downright fascist. Even McCarthy did not engage in any of this.
Republicans under Reagan and Bush opened the borders to illegal immigrants and attempted to grant unconditional amnesty to all. Reagan did so but Bush was thwarted and did not succeed in granting it. But the borders could have been easily secured by the Justice Department prosecuting those who hire illegals. Of course, that would entail the prosecution of fellow Republicans and that is why this wasn't done.
Republicans give more welfare to the wealthy elites through corporate subsidies and by promoting foreign tax shelters that keep capital overseas without being taxed. Thus, you pay taxes while those elites don't pay a cent in taxation.
Today, Republicans make up the membership of ultra right wing radical groups such as the KKK, Minute Men, Three Percenters, Proud Boys, and other anti government types with members such as Eric Rudolph, Gordon Kahl, Timothy McVeigh, and others anti Americans. This is treason just like what we saw during the Civil War.
Democrats are just that - democratic. Can't say the same about Republicans, epseically those who say they want limited government but who take billions in subsidies and other forms of government relief.

What made America great was a large land area, considerable sources of raw materials, and a big population. Oh yes, and there are the small matters of genocide amongst the native American peoples, and the slavery of black Africans.
Best of wishes, 2RM.
Hi 2RM
Great name, by the way.
The USA history needs to be re-written or more correctly understood. As Professor Henry Weincek wrote a few years ago, as many as 40% of Washington's troops were black. In the deep south, Cubans and Puerto Ricans fought with Commander de Galvés to defeat the British but they were written out of our history books. If these truths were known and fully understood, many in the USA today would see that the nation was born through integration and that we work best when we work together.
You do make a valid point that there was a lot of heavily enriched land along with many able and motivated people to work it. Of course, there was a price tag in that the land was unfairly taken from Native Americans and worked on for "free" by slaves. It would have been far better for all if there had been full freedom and universal inclusion but sadly we did not have that.
Still for the purposes of this thread, there is some radical right wing mysticism today which pretends that the Democrats practice some form of "socialism" in their politics. This delusionalism is easily refuted by opening up history books which reveal that the ideas employed by Dems are not "Marxist" but are Americanist. They did not beging with Marx who was born in 1818. Their ideals were all created and put into place BEFORE he was born. Therefore, their patriotic ideals were NOT Marxist or socialist. On that basis, many more people should vote Democrat if they want to see political ideals employed in our society that are consistent with those of our Founding Fathers.

Post #27Do you think, then, that it is not an aspect of a political party's duty to tackle social ills? What else are they for?

Post #28President Obama and other Democrats offered to end foreign tax havens:
https://www.google.com/search?q=obama+a ... e&ie=UTF-8
Republicans balked and the corporate welfare system was saved for the benefit of the wealthy elites. If these havens were closed we would not have a national debt and the economy would have enough capital to pay for rebuilding the infrastructure without any tax increases.

Not true...and out of context to what Reagan really said. The reason I say 'out of context' is because one youtubber title the video below as, "Ronald Reagan calls for an open border with Mexico, 1980" which is a lie and totally out of context! Bush and Reagan were speaking about Mexico (and Cuba) and opening the border 'in and out' to LEGAL migrant workers with a permit! Reagan was NOT in favor of illegal immigrants OR amnesty to all!, he was in favor of LEGAL and was in favor of He was in favor of making it possible for them to come here legally with a work permit - AND allow them - LEGAL MIGRANT WORKERS WITH A WORK PERMIT to cross the border both ways. This is what Reagan said and stood for...
"Rather than talking about putting up a fence, why don’t we work out some recognition of our mutual problems? Make it possible for them to come here legally with a work permit—and then while they’re working and earning here, they pay taxes here. And when they want to go back, they can go back. And open the border both ways by understanding their problems."

Reagan granted amnesty to THREE MILLION illegals who entered the USA prior to 1982. He could easily have ordered their removal and the problem would have been solved. In fact he made things worse in 1986 when he signed the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA), which that forbade hospitals from denying emergency care services based on unauthorized immigration status. The population of illegal immigrants rose from 5 million in 1986 to 11.1 million in 2013 when this was stopped by Obama ~ per wiki.
