Early polls (137 days before the election) show Biden leading. But who wins comes November?

One option is for the DNC to get Biden to choose VP candidate that would help him win like Susan Rice or Hillary, and assuming Biden wins, they would can him citing dementia. Their other option is to dump Biden at the DNC and go with Cuomo and - yep - Hillary!

All the garbage the Democrats have been spewing out the last 3 1/2 years, esp. the debacled impeachment baloney, the riots, the Russia/Ukraine hoax, etc. will come back to haunt them when things begin to heat up.

Another 911 is just around the corner. Either just before or after the 2020 election. Then, IF another Republican like Pence wins the 2024 election, the big one comes and the third jihad - the last and final round of the Crusades will be the norm of the world.

Biden dementia?

Trump has had more guffaws than he has but the news media ignores it. However, you may find plenty of videos on youtube to prove it.

Russia/Ukraine hoax?

Several people are in prison because of the Mueller investigation. Therefore, not a hoax.

9/11 around the corner?

First, you may thank Republican Bush for that, same for Katrina. Second, you may thank Trump for the deaths in Puerto Rico and the 138,000 deaths due to coronavirus.

Republican political stupidity and incompetence lead to the deaths of Americans. Voting for that party leads to even more deaths so, yes, it is easy to see another 9/11 occur but only if there is a Republican in the White House.

I think that Biden will win the election comfortably.

At this point I do not see a way forward for Trump.

The things that excite Trump’s base are the same things which repel independents and moderate Republicans. Trump cannot dramatically change course without upsetting his base, and he cannot attract enough support to win a general election with the course that he is on.

Politically, I would compare Donald Trump to Bernie Sanders. Their political positions are, in most cases, far from each other, but the two men share the same strengths and weaknesses. Both have a loyal, passionate base that will stand by their candidate no matter what and seem genuinely confused why more people are not in favor of their candidate. However, both Trump and Sanders are extremely unpopular with those who are not a part of their base. Neither candidate has been able to attract strong support among the general electorate. Most notably, neither Trump nor Sanders is popular among independent voters. Independents make up 36% of the electorate, which is more than either Democrats (31%) or Republicans (30%).

Obviously a lot could change in the next few months, but I cannot think of anything that Trump could do which would result in his victory in November. A major legislative victory would be helpful, but Trump was only able to get a few big victories when Republicans controlled both the House and the Senate. Democratic control of the House all but guarantees that Trump will not have any major legislative wins this year. Revitalizing the economy might save Trump, but at this point that is beyond his control. The pandemic has taken control of the economy out of the hands of all lawmakers.

So, barring a significant unforeseen event, Biden will win comfortably.

I can't tell the difference between you acknowledging the weaknesses of the Democrats as opposed to trying to justify them by bringing up the wrongs of the Republicans each time. A few of your main statements take the form, the Democrats are bad at x BUT the Repubs also x. You didn't do this when you were criticizing the Republican party.

Either way, you keep bringing up "history" but that does not always follow into the present given that Trump is not a conventional Republican. Trump's policies are consistently about deterring while the Democrats policies would attract even more illegals. I would think that building a border wall, stopping the large immigrant caravans even with military presence is a stronger deterrent than the Democrat plans that nvolve sanctuary cities, defunding ICE, providing illegals free healthcare, and decriminalizing border crossings. I mean you tell me, assuming illegals had a choice who do you think theyd rather vote for? Dems or republicans??

Health care for illegals? Not so in almost all of the USA:

Biden is for giving illegals healthcare:
It took just a few seconds for the Democratic presidential candidates to raise their hands, but some are still talking about it almost three weeks later.

“Raise your hand if your government plan would provide [health care] coverage for undocumented immigrants,” said moderator Savannah Guthrie on the second night of the Democratic debate last month. All 10 candidates – including former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders – signaled that their answer was yes.

I know a Democrat would say that a border wall and ICE aren't needed. They're for open borders afterall.

Why are you complaining? No police/Defund police = no law enforcement so Trump will get away with hiring felons. Who do you want to arrest him, Nancy Pelosi?

AB,

From your link - Biden,

"noted that many undocumented workers pay into to safety net programs (about $13.3 billion into Social Security every year) and should be able to buy into health coverage ... Biden’s plan would allow undocumented workers to buy into a public option only if they are paying into Social Security. ''

In other words, if thye pay taxes, they should be allowed to buy insurance.

Of course, this could easily be stopped by the DOJ prosecuting those who hire illegals. Arrest and prosecute those capitalists who get away with so many crimes. The failure to do so lies strictly with your Republican party.

You left out the part about government subsidies if they can't pay for it. Secondly, I questioned the percentage of undocumented immigrants that pay taxes when first we don't even know how many undocumented immigrants we have in our country and we also don't know how many are being paid under the table with no federal taxes taken out.

Paying taxes doesn't justify someone entering the country illegally. The United States does not have unlimited resources and it's a no-brainer that poor illegals will hog up some of the social services and hospital beds that Americans should be occupying. You see all the homeless in California, right?

Or do you mean ICE and border patrol should be able to deport them. The Democrat plan of defunding ICE is counter to that of course.

Prosecute those Republicans who violate the law and the problem is solved overnight.

I am curious how they came to that conclusion. A survey of current polls from fivethrityeight found that Biden is leading Trump by an average of just over 9 points in the polls.

According to fivethirtyeight:
“Take what other national polls this week found: A Yahoo News/YouGov poll gave Biden an 8-point lead. A Reuters/Ipsos poll had him up by 10. The Economist/YouGov found him up by 9. An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll put him ahead by 11. Morning Consult had him winning by 8.”

That is a significant lead and it is seen by pollsters across the political spectrem. That’s not to say that this lead can’t be overcome, but I would be curious what evidence FlordiaDude297 has that these well respected and established pollsters lack.
