The Proud Boys

Post by Elijah John »

After the debate of Sept 29th, (and prior too) I hear an oft repeated charge that the "Proud Boys" are a "white supremacist" or a racist group. This charge is even repeated on Fox as an unquestioned assumption by the likes of Geraldo and Chris Wallace. But does such a charge bear the scrutiny of closer inspection and is that charge in line with the facts? Consider this from their New England chapter application:
Do you understand we are not a white nationalist organization and we will not tolerate white nationalists in our organization? *
Yes
No
Are you okay with the fact that we allow gay men into our fraternity? *
Yes
No
Do you understand that you must be a MAN to join our fraternity? *
Yes
No
Do you understand that we allow Blacks, Jews, Hispanics, Asians (That includes Indians), and Anyone into our fraternity regardless of race? *
For debate, how in the world is any of this "white supremacist"? Is it fair to label them as such? How so?
My theological positions:

-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.

I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

Listen to the words of one of those Proud Boys:

Certainly not the words of a peace loving integrationist.

Can you still join if you answer "no" to these questions?

At a glance, it isn't.
Is it fair to label them as such? How so?
Don't particular care which brand of right wing extremists they are, but they called themselves "western chauvinists."

these illustrations are based on the words & deeds of this radical, subversive group - none of their ideals represent Christian or true patriotic principles

Here's a fairly comprehensive summary of the Proud Boys:

Seems pretty clear to me: the Proud Boys try to carefully avoid the label, but all their actions and words certainly fit with a typical violent, racist group.
