When I lived in Bali, I couldn't help observing the pervasive evidence of belief in demons. And of course demons put in an appearance in the Bible, not to mention in the gargoyles of old cathedrals.
On the other hand, modern science would seem to categorically reject the existence of demons, without a clear reason why, unless it has to do with the axiomatic presuppositions of science's governing ideology of reductionist materialism.
Question: Do demons exist? What evidence is there, for or against?

Post #141No, there weren't 500+ witnesses. What we have is an uncorroborated claim in an unverified story that there were these witnesses.
Perhaps you should read the article below and then tell us all who is really in denial.

Post #144You know The Great Pumpkin? That is great to hear.
That aside, please tell us exactly how you know that your God is the OTG.

Post #147Yes, science is limited in its ability to support theist claims.
Ain't it peculiar science and yheism'd suffer em both the same fate when folks set to claiming there's a magic man up in the sky.

Post #148But it is also limited in its ability to dismiss theist claims. That is my point. Science is of the intellect, religion is about consciousness. These are two ways of knowing the world.JoeyKnothead wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 6:57 amYes, science is limited in its ability to support theist claims.

To be clear: Atheism is not a disbelief in gods or a denial of gods; it is a lack of belief in gods.

I must assume that knowing is better than not knowing, venturing than not venturing; and that magic and illusion, however rich, however alluring, ultimately weaken the human spirit.

Re: Do demons exist? Can that be tested?
Post #150Since demons are unclean spirits, and cannot be seen, you simply have to look for secondary evidence. If you see a herd of swine jump into a lake and drown, well, there you go. If you see leaders/kings/dictators/church leaders/Congressmen/progressives (Revelation 16:13-15) become more dictatorial, and crazy (without reasoning), then presto, you have your proof. What is the imminent threat, well, that would be the gathering of the nations against Jerusalem, and the world (establishments), as we know it, coming to end, being crushed (Daniel 2:45) & (Revelation 16:16-21)Sergio wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 7:40 pm [Replying to post 1 by John Human]
What is the evidence? Have you gone through any brain scans?
To test the end results of the demons, simply sit back and wait. Most scientific testing requires an element of time.
