Published in August 24, 2017, Time Magazine, this ‘CHARTOON’ is a too-cute representation of the eternal comparison of the two philosophies. It is a liberal apologist’s attempt at political correctness, equating rationality to the irrational.
Or is it?
Are progressives giving too much ground to those striving to maintain the status quo?
On the surface, Science and religion are equals

Post #2I wouldn't say it's even accurate. Religion is usually presented as giving answers, not searching for them. My comments on progressives are probably best left for the political forums...2Dbunk wrote: Science / Religion

It's supposed to be a cartoon so I would take it with a grain of salt but some parts went too far, I would change it thus:
Science / Religion
Searches for answers / gives answers that it has no way of knowing
strict laws and practices / strict laws and practices
lectures / lectures
big, heavy books / big, heavy books
long coats / long coats
blows stuff up / blows stuff up
says God is not required / says man is God-made
Empirical evidence / faith

Post #5I would point out also that the scientific community tends to all embrace the same laws and practices. They require peer review, independent verification, and majority consensus that all laws and practices were indeed correctly adhered to.2Dbunk wrote: strict laws and practices / strict laws and practices
There actually is no such thing as a coherent "religious community". Religious communities disagree and renounce each other's laws and practices all the time. Quite different from science to be certain.
They even disagree within their own religious communities:
Jews disagree with Jews.
Muslim Shia disagree with Muslim Sunni
Christian Catholics disagree with Christian Protestants
Christian Protestants disagree with other Christian Protestants.
If the scientific community was this messed up we wouldn't even be able to have any working technology.
