Did God create chalk deposits?

Chalk is the microscope remains of untold billions of once living creatures compressed into a soft sedimentary rock.

In places it can be in the hundreds of feet thick.

Surely it wasn't created in the short time of the flood.

Doesn't this show that death reigned supreme long before Adam sinned?

You are taking the book of Genesis as literal truth. It is an allegory.

It is an allegory set in an earthly garden. It is about the fall of mankind which happened in the spiritual world. All human spirits fell, as spirits, before human birth.

The earth and the spiritual realm were created at the same time according to the Bible.

Again you are taking the bible literally. This cannot be done without creating profound contradictions. The bible is not a religion, it is an account of Jewish history. It is not accurate. One must take the spiritual imagery for what it is, which is imagery, metaphor, symbol etc. not literal truth.

Yes ... they are just as mythical as Adam and Eve, Noah, anyone claimed to have lived to 150 years or more, etc. The stories of Genesis are just that ... stories. Abraham supposedly lived to be 175 years old, which is obviously ridiculous and impossible for a human being even today, much less a few thousand years ago. These types of biblical figures are not real people who ever actually existed.
In human affairs the sources of success are ever to be found in the fountains of quick resolve and swift stroke; and it seems to be a law, inflexible and inexorable, that he who will not risk cannot win.
John Paul Jones, 1779

The man who does not read has no advantage over the man who cannot read.

I was hoping a believer would affirm that these individuals were mythological figures.

Why? Not all of the bible is myth. It is a mixture of myth and history. But it also contains much that is spiritually valuable.
