Other than me, has anybody else here ever had to do reverse engineering? Taking an existing, designed, complex system, and unravelling it, trying to identify what the various parts do, which parts are "important" and "if we do this what does the system do" so on?
Because I'm of the opinion recently that science - particularly molecular biology (which I admit I know little about) - is very comparable to reverse engineering.
What do others think? is science, biochemistry, genetics etc. any different from reverse engineering?
