Question about warnings?

Post by Divine Insight »

I've noticed in the past that when I've received warnings the only way that I knew about it was that I happened to go back to the thread in which I received the warning.

In other words, I never got any PM's when I have received warnings in the past.

This causes me a bit of concern because it's possible that I could have received warnings that I'm not even aware of simply because I just never happened to go back to the thread where the warning was actually posted.

Shouldn't warnings be accompanied by a PM to insure that the person who got the warning is actually aware that they even got one?

Yes, that's not a bad idea, however, it takes a lot of time to do that. We had a policy of sending a PM for the final warning, but we've been slack about that recently. We should at least reinstate sending a PM for a final warning.

As for reading warnings given to you, I thought you read every single post on the forum. ;)

As much as I post I can certainly understand that. :D

Sometimes I think that being banned would be the best thing to happen to me since it would free up the massive time I spend here. 8-)

Internet forums can be addictive to be sure. I should probably turn off my Internet service and move toward just writing books in a word processor. That could end up being more profitable in any case. :study:

I've always wondered, how much time DO you spend here each day?

Not as much as it appears, actually. But I do spend a lot of time on the computer, so these forums are always just a click away from whatever else I happen to be doing at the time.

Like right now I'm actually working on an electronic schematic in a another program, but I have DC&R open in another tab. That's my nemesis right there! I wire up a few components and then click over to view new posts.

It's a habit I really need to do something about. My sister suggests that I go for counseling. I think she's right.

Can you set it up so that the receivers of warning get PM'd automatically?

This is a good idea. I'll have to think about how to do this.
