Criticism of ideas can get close to the the criticism of persons. Perhaps there could be a procedure for mods to pre-establish what is or isn't objectionable, so the poster could edit posts without penalty.

We did have something like this before where a post could be reviewed by a panel. But, we abandoned it since it took too much work.
